You idiots, the groin protector on a full plate carrier is to protect your groin from fragmentation and pistol rounds, the flap of material on the bottom of ops picture is a concealable soft body armor vest. The bottom of that vest is just material and contains no soft armor, it's meant so that when you wear a shirt over the concealable body armor you tuck the flap at the bottom into your pants so the imprint of the concealable body armor under your over shirt is smooth and seamless making the body armor more concealable, other wise you have this big thing sticking out a bit below your belly button that looks like a breastplate.

On that soft armor it's just to tuck into your pants so it doesn't shift OP. It's not protective in any way.

On the plate carrier sets you've seen posted it can hold soft or hard armor which will protect your dick and your femoral. Also getting shot in the pelvis is a perfect way to be incapacitated and bleed out.
