And that's exactly the point. As intended from HK it doesn't melt. It was just the german government that decided to take a changed version of the polymer and a plastic instead of aluminum rail because they wanted to save money.

If you take Latvia, Norway os Spain for example they have no problems with their G36 rifles because they simply bought what HK had to offer and did not cheap out on them.
