i have 2 ranges that go past 250yds. I do somewhat agree in that they are a drive to get there.
One is free and you just drive up a mountain and pull over. It goes to about 350-400yds. It is a little over an hour to get up there from where I live. Mainly because the road is half paved and narrow so you have to drive slow.
the other goes out to 700yds and costs $10 to shoot all day. (also 1hr away from my house)

im also a rural and suburban retard and i have friends/family that know someone with land where we shoot sometimes.

Considering there's an estimated 120,000,000 gun owners, of which about 40% shoot actively, just in the US there's bound to be a few of us on a gun enthusiast website.

I have a family farm I can shoot on out to around 1350 yards, but it's ~3 hours away. There is zero public land in my state or any of the surrounding states I can legally shoot recreationally on (it's either noguns allowed or hunting only), ALL of the open-to-public ranges are either 25yd indoor or 100yd outdoor ranges, and the ONE private club that goes past 100 yards has >$1000/year dues and a 3-year waitlist.
