-Are "spoon tip" bullets precise enough at long ranges or does the spooned tip make them lose their trajectory?

-Are they more efficient on an unarmored target than hollow points?

-Does the "spoon" reduces their penetration capability against armored targets?

-Would a 5,45x39 (designed to yaw on inpact) be more efficient and lethal than a spoon tipped 223?

Each comparison would be with the same velocity/load/weight etc.

I know the most important is shot placement.

Oh thank god I thought I was going insane
I remember reading about 4.6x33mm years ago and then I tried to look it up again months ago and it's like it's fucking disappeared from the internet. I even remember the slanted tip rounds and everything. Where the hell did the wikipedia page go?

So, what are your opinions on my questions?

Would a homemade 223 spoon tipped bullet create as much/more damage on soft tissue (by tumbling/yaw) than a hollow point, while still offering more penetration?

Honestly it's hard to say. There's so little information out there on this caliber that I don't know how accuracy would be affected. As far as tumbling? It can be as effective as hollow points - look at 7N6.

You guys won't stop shitposting but when an interesting thread comes out noone answers...

your thread is not interesting
the concept was abandoned because it didn't work
anything you could make at home definitely wouldn't work

just buy HP or SP or poly tip if you want something better than FMJ

Thanks for your answer.
Can you please bring explainations as to why it wouldn't work ?

>>34462019
why is a football the shape it is? what is symmetry? What helps stabilization of the spiral?

you're an idiot.

The concept was abandoned because it violates laws of war.
