Why don't you have a red dot optic equipped handgun yet?

It's anno domini 1 Imperator Trump and still you do not have an RDS on your handgun. Surely you at least have one on your rifle, so why not your handgun as well?

Because relying on batteries is a meme, 2032's are a weird fucking battery to boot, and I love my ghost ring.

I use on on my Glock 19 as my concealed carry. It's not just for larping.

I prefer my sidearms EMP ready, and have no desire to build familiarity with such an unreliable system.

Supressor height sights can co-witness. Getting an RDS won't preclude the use if iron sights.

Slide mounted red dots sucks. They need to start making guns with non-reciprocating top rails. This is a next real improvement for pistol's design that needs to happen since invention of glock.
>>
>>34460560
The effects of an EMP last only for 60 seconds, it is not a game breaking deal.
>>
>>34460560
Hey retard, I'm not sure if you're awaare of this but an 'EMP' would only be as effective as the explosion that happened during a nuclear blast. If your shit got 'EMP'd then you would also be a burn mark on the concrete.

That being said I prefer sights. Handgun red dots beat themselves to death in under 1000 rounds.
>>
>>34460704
I've found you need to actually own one and practice developing your point of aim. I usually practice around my house with my handgun unloaded and I point at stuff in my garage or other small things. It took a few days of doing that to even reliably pick up the dot. Now I'm much faster at acquiring a sight picture and can keep both eyes open while being able to focus on the target and not my sights.

Why is your gun so loud and weak?
>>
Because I don't have top rails on my hand cannon and I don't think they make a rds that could stand up to it.

I shot about 200rnds of 9mm threw it desu it could have been that the pistol had a queer balance. It was really hard to quickly acquire sight picture . I always shoot handgun both eyes open . Thanks for the input!

>Because I don't have top rails
Not required, generally people get their slides milled to accept RMRs. Some use dovetail adapters that put a mounting plate where their rear sight goes.
>and I don't think they make a rds that could stand up to it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHrG2SQ2010
Videos like this aren't atypical. RMR's are pretty damn tough. I've been using mine as the primary method of racking the slide and to do press checks without any issues.

>>34460792
I don't even think it's about simply firing X number of rounds. I think it's more about simply looking at something small like a light switch and then aiming at it. I believe repetitions of acquiring an initial sight picture is the best way to get acclimated to using them and being able to leverage their advantages.

At first I wouldn't even see the dot at all because my aim was way off and I was slower than using my irons since with irons having a front and back sight planes gives you reference to adjust for. With the red dot you need to be able to reflexively point the gun with a good degree of accuracy so that the dot will even show up, and if you practice enough it will start to even be on target.

>>34460792
this is the real draw back to red dot systems they take extra training. Unlike a rifle, its not easy to get a consistent sight picture. add on the fact you're using a smaller red dot and it's no wonder that so many folks (who actually go out and shoot one) struggle (myself included) I'll be sticking with irons for now

Same. I always get shit like...

>"all your AR needs is a (insert specific RDS here)"

I don't like magnified optics unless it's on a precision rifle and I literally can't use a red dot (to it's full potential), so I just said fuck it became proficient with irons.

>>34460966
Get a Glock 19. You want the option of having a Roland Special when you want to step up and be a real baller. The best part is that with the KKM or TBRCi comp it's basically glock 34 length and fits in glock 34 holsters but has tons of advantages.
>>
>>34460851
>>34460560
EMPs do not affect small electronics. Most EMP effects come from power lines which act as large antennas to induct voltage. Then everything plugged into the grid gets effed. It's even in that source
>Wristwatch dying: One movie critic pointed out that electronics in a helicopter were affected, but not the star's electronic watch. A watch is much too small for HEMP to affect it.
A red dot will be unaffected by an EMP

I got a 1x prism scope for similar reasons. But that's on an AR pistol as my HD gun. Rifle irons at 10 yards would be too clumsy. Any other case, iron sight 100%
>>
I got one... I love it. After getting it sighted in the first time for my load I suddenly don't have any issues with sight picture

I can suddenly and easily shoot with both eyes open and focus on trigger control and speed. Oh and I can shoot in the dark really well now.

It is kinda bulky, snaggy and no co-witness what is extremely desirable for a pistol. Something of this theme but smoothly integrated into pistol frame.

>the wolf sv ultramatic
And not rainbow unicorn but made by mainstream companies and working. This would be nice instead of just another glock copy nobody wants anymore.

i'll wait when there's a standard way to attach red dots to pistols. right now you have to use proprietary mounts and have gun smiths drill out the slide.
>>
>>34460713
pistols without slides are big though. the slide saves length for the same barrel length because pistols are bullpups.
>>
>>34469572
You'll be waiting forever. Glock and other companies make optic ready factory models, that can accept RMRs already . You'll never be able to get a red dot on a handgun without milling it out and not having issues like height over bore, sight co-witness, etc.

>>34469595
