Out of all the guns you own, which one is your favourite and why?
Probably my basic bitch wasr
>>34457507
No idea why. May because it's the oldest and has history? Maybe because it's Russian? Maybe because I'm mentally deficient?
Depends... I love all my guns, some a little more than others. Most of m guns have prices I would sell them for, but those prices are far above what any sane person would pay.
Pic related is the only one that doesn't have a price. It was my first gun, a 1950 Model 94
For obvious reasons.
>>34457507
My FN HP, because it gives me a feeling of....Hi Power.
>>34457635
I'm also pretty infatuated with my Mega Maten at the moment (the .308 on the left)
>>34457507
My favorite style rifle.
>>34457507
What in fuck is going on with that rear sight?
>>34457507
My W. German 226
>>34457654
And I'd also be pretty upset if anything happened to my 41. That will probably end up being an heirloom
>>34457671
Oh hey, someone with a pistol scope! Can I ask, is the scope pretty usable off hand, or is a rest only proposition?
>>34457701
I can use it offhand fairly easily, but it's an old as Burris from the 70s or 80s and the eye relief is very unforgiving. Basically I can shoot it, but anybody with a different length arm will have trouble.
>>34457758
Sweet deal, thanks! I've been thinking about scoping a 44 revolver for long distance shooting, glad to have a little more info.
>>34457507
Probably my CZ 75B. First gun I bought, first gun I did any "work" to, first gun I shot competition with. I'll never sell it.
I've felt a bit bad though because I haven't been shooting it much lately, but I'm getting ready to change it up quite a bit to fill a niche in my collection that should have it seeing more range trips. I'm very excited to be excited about my first gun again.
>>34457507
Definitely my PTR. It's just so much fun to shoot.
My ling ling m14 because I'm a battle rifle fag and I'm canadian so I don't really have a choice.
>>34457507
My Makarov.
Feels amazing it the hand, easy to disassemble and clean, pleasant to shoot, and very accurate.
The SA trigger is also surprisingly crisp.
>>34457669
Goofy target sights for a longer sight radius
Definitely my Cz 527 7.62x39. Incredibly light and handy, clear and precise sights plus a clean trigger, and it's dirt cheap to shoot. I can't decide what I want to do with the sights though. Either some low power glass, or a rear peep sight. The glass would cost more but it would be an easy install, while a new rear sight would require some smithing.
I wish from the bottom of my heart that it had 10 round mags. But there's no perfect world.
>>34457652
Do you feel the calling of a higher power?
I love all my guns, I don't keep ones that I don't love. But the one I love most is the Tikka I put together exactly the way I wanted it.
>>34458025
You're probably already aware, but go small with the scope if you decide to go that route. I went with what I thought was a pretty conservative optic and still ended up rubbing the bolt handle on mine.
The lower power (2-7x, 1.5-5/6x) small objective (<33mm) Leupolds actually gather a surprising amount of light, and they don't weigh as much as most other scopes on the market, which is nice on a handy gun like the 527. I'm generally not a Leupold fanboy or anything, but they actually look pretty handsome on the CZ's.
>>34457854
Right there with ya. Such a fun gun to shoot.
OPs question is a little broad though. There are too many types of guns to really define one as a favorite. Hunting, CCW, plinking etc..
>>34457507
>Favorite
Tanfoglio Witness Steel 9mm w/ .22 conversion slide - $408 NIB from Buds
>why
$408 NIB, also fantastic shooter in both. soaks up recoil on the 9 like nobody's business, the .22 feels like an airgun.
Minor under the hood mods from Henning, will shoot head to head against buddy's 5.25 XDm Mod 2.
>>34458067
Thanks anon. Ill probably get leopold's 2.5 fixed power ultralight
>>34458099
comp, not mod2
>>34457507
FN Mauser, it's just a cool rifle, and it's got some nice old glass on it. Think it's a Weaver KV 60 and that it came with the rifle originally. Previous owner took really good care of it.
My 1911. Iconic, versatile, pleasant to shoot. With different slides and springs I get .45acp for practice, 45 super for carry, 460 rowland for animals, 22lr for fun. It's only real downfall is mag capacity, but funny looking extended mags fix that. It's my "default" gun if you will.
>>34457652
what kind of sweater is that? It looks british.
>>34458184
Whats the make? SA?
>>34458004
I really like fiber optics, but I can't stand those tiny ass front sights.
>>34458004
What grips?
>>34457665
Thank you, I'm a sucker for these
>>34458213
Ruger Sr1911 Talo Edition. A step higher in quality than the normal Sr1911 without being wallet busting.
>>34458118
I went with 2-7 leupold, I love the sights but 7.62x39 has just enough reach to warrant the scope. Amen, probably my favorite weapon I can afford the shoot. 30-06 costs too much to shoot the M1
My Beretta 92FS. It's been my favorite pistol since I was a little kid, but I didn't buy one until just after the election. I already had a full size pistol so it wasn't "practical." Screw practical, buy what you like, life is too short to not have your favorite gun. I didn't realize how much I wanted it until just before the election when I was half worried that Hillary would win and pass AWB 2.0, and I was mostly sad at the thought of having to get neutered low capacity magazines if I ever bought one.
My CZ 75BD. It's my first pistol and the one I've fucked with most, and I've assembled and disassembled it so many times that I know it inside and out and feel comfortable work on it.
Yeah, I keep reposting this picture.
This weapon warms my heart. What a fun little pistol.
>>34458026
Lol that I do.
>>34458185
It's a British SAS sweater yes.
>>34458414
is it actual military surplus, or one of a similar style? Where'd you get it? Is it comfortable? I've been on a british military kick lately.
I don't really pick favorites. But this is the one I have been doing dry fire drills with all night, and it's probably the one I have the most hand tooling time in, at various points.

Is that a CZ 75B converted to SAO? I want to do the same to my gun. How do you like it? Did you remove the FPB? What spring weights are you running?
>>34458503
>Is that a CZ 75B converted to SAO?
Yes.
> I want to do the same to my gun. How do you like it?
It is pretty nice, I also have a factory SAO Jericho. I really like these SAO CZ 75s and clones.
>Did you remove the FPB?
No.
>What spring weights are you running?
Factory weight. I've only replaced springs in my Jericho (and I actually made them heavier). I wanted to make sure my sear and hammer work would hold up for a few thousand rounds before I started fucking around with lighter weight springs.
>>34458554
>Did you remove the FPB?
>No.
Any reason why not? I'm kind of on the fence about it on my gun. It's going to be for competition only, so I'm leaning towards deleting it. I'm also going to put a Kadet kit on it from time to time that doesn't have the FPB which is pushing me further in that direction.
>>34458576
No real reason, this is only a range gun. But my decision matrix has a lot of other things as a priority before removing the FPB. This isn't like a magazine safety on a Hi-Power, where removing it take the trigger from garbage to wonderful. At least removing the FPB is easy I guess, I'm just not sure there is much practical benefit.
Probably my SP01 that I've done a lot of work to because it's my competition gun and I shoot it far more often than anything else I own
>>34457654
I built a mega billet ar15, love it
>>34458610
Cool. I've been told that it shortens the reset distance noticeably, so I'd like to see for myself. I'll have to try it both ways and get a feel for it.
Thanks for the input, much appreciated. Psyched to find someone having done a (Relatively) uncommon modification to the same model gun.
>>34457507
It's my first gun and I just got it last week so the giddiness and sentimental value is there.
I do plan to swap out the grips for some G10 Hogue grips due to the finger grooves and the mauling it's got underneath the decocker.

I mean, it's not that hard.
If all of your guns for some heretofore unknown reason were to disappear but one, which would you pick?
that one is your favorite
If I had to pick, maybe my H&K model 4 for unobtanium value. Although I love my dad's S&W Master pieces, the krag, and the type 99.
I also live the mauser 1914
nvm, can't pick, love all of them and turned my post int a bragging sesh.
>>34457642
That's actually pretty sweet
My M39 because I think it's the most aesthetic
>>34459519
That is one beautiful gun, anon.
>>34458240
You're very welcome. I am as well.
>>34458810
Sig 55X series rifles, specifically those with the classic handguard look.
>>34458694
I converted my RAMI to SAO and didn't remove the FPB as it's a carry piece. If your 75 is a competition gun then I say go for it. Also research i did beforehand suggests that simply removing the FPB doesn't decrease the natural reset but allows for the installation of the CGW short reset trigger kit.

>>34466134
Ironic that CZ recommends steel-cased ammo specifically for their CZ 527 7.62x39 rifle
>>34466698
They have a pretty good idea of what kind of person is going to buy a bolt action in 7.62x39.
CZ knows their audience pretty well.
>>34457670
Same! Put over 10,000 rounds through mine so far. I also like that mine was made the year I was born, 1989.
>>34458065
Great looking rifle! Is that a Bell and Carlson stock? I have a Tikka .270 T3 Lite and am looking for a new stock for it.
>>34466755
>>34466698
Whole point of the gun was to make it a good shooter for surplus ammo, because quite frankly there's no other reason to chamber it in 7.62x39, other than surplus availability.
So making it shoot steel case well is necessary, since ya know, all the surplus is steel case.
>>34460955
>>34463305
What about the "556XI" models?
>>34467510
That's actually the version I have. Mine hasn't had a single issue, other than the extremely forceful ejection being painful for people to the right of me at the range. But make sure to get the version actually chambered in 5.56.
>>34457507
My FAL, though the close second is my Hakim.
Why?
Because. They are the Guns that made me realize I actually could improve my aim instead of eternally being shitty due to being bad at Kentucky windage.
I can actually hold a plate sized group off hand at 50 yards with them (the FAL has no gas tube, so it's harder to use for now)
I used to only have old bolt guns and pistols (and a shitty AK)
I love them because they made me okay, even with my shakes.
My Shield, because mah concealability...

>>34468117
Yes, and that pic was taken in part as a trolling pic. I have a lot of them. Here's another one that really triggers /arg/.
>>34468010
The trigger is unique, and seems weird at first, but after the first trigger pull it's actually really nice. Sometimes hard to tell where the shot breaks though.
As far as after market parts: Good luck with that. Get a nice red dot, and aside from that puck up what you can while it exists. I bought the last spare parts kit that Sig has in stock, and they have yet to restock the fucking things. After market is basically nil at this point.
