can a navy seal/delta/ranger/sas live in the wild if so for how long??

I recall of a story of a ex Spetznaz soldier running from the police in New Jersey into the snowy woods in nothing but his underwear. Police tracked him for several days and by the end of the ordeal, he had killed 3 police officers, a police dog, and he was killed in a shootout where he wounded several more officers. They even based an episode of the Sapronos on it.

Depends on a whole host of things. The environment, carried equipment, location and destination, the wider political risk (this is far more important than people let on), is he being pursued, is he pursuing and others.

You can "live" in the wild if you have a good understanding of the weather, are reasonably fit and healthy for an indefinite period of time. Completing a set task is an entirely different ball game.

They are elite infantry with the backing of the greatest logistical behemoth that the world has ever known, they don't have any need to learn subsistence skills. What is covered in SERE is all that is deemed necessary. It isn't intended to teach them to live out in the wild for extended periods of time.

Living out in the wild is different, would SF guys know how to fish? how to hunt for game? would they know how to cut and prepare raw meat from game? Maybe, maybe not, they're certainly not trained to, so it would never be expected of them.

SF blokes are incredibly switched on, so if you gave them a handbook on how to live in the wild(the wild, not the field), they would probably manage

Add to that the fact that a lot of subsistence living is hard to do stealthily. You will have to move out of your OP to hunt larger game. You will be hard pressed to do much without a goodly sized fire, a liquid fuel stove is only good for heating rations and boiling water. You will be forced to range farther and farther for forage. Your footprint grows wider and wider the longer you are out there on your own.
