Was scheduled for hearing but Scalise got blasted. Will probably go into hearing when he's back.

Hope it fails. Deregulate suppressors at least, you fucking bitch boys.

Any chance of them appealing it once Kennedy retires?
>>34452158
According to this, he's at least out of bed now. That's a pretty good sign considered he took an SKS boolit to the pelvis just a couple weeks ago.

Also as mentioned, HPA is dead in favor of SHARE. I'm guessing they're going with SHARE so when antis vote no, the reps can "compromise" by trimming out the parts like letting people carry in national parks and all that shit.
SHARE would also mean that the 7N6 ban may be overturned since the ATF wouldn't get to arbitrarily decided whats AP anymore.

How long you been waiting so far?
>>34452964
Well, the transaction just posted to my account today, and I guess I technically sent the paperwork out a week and a half ago. So, I've got about 12 months left to wait, unless the backlog drops off dramatically .

I have a feeling we will see a dramatic reduction in wait times by the end of the year.

>Obama's face when I was oc-ing a 460 XVR all last week in Yellowstone
Idk about the HPA, but the chances of it passing could go up with the introduction of the SHUSH act. It would make it seem like a better bet to keep suppressors as more than just an accessory and for them to be counted as a firearm.
>>34454465

What genius came up with this? I love him/her.
>>34454465
I was thinking about something in .460. What do you think of it?
>>34455058
It's fantastic. Looks great, fun to shoot, gain twist rifling, plus it gives me a platform to experiment with heavy .45 colt loads
>>34455150
Revolver newb here. Thanks for the response.
I did not know about the rifling. Interesting. I have a multicaliber fetish, so the .460 was right up that alley. What did it set you back, and do you think the Performance Center versions are worth the extra cost?
>>34455288
I think it totaled up to ~$1150. I'm sure the performance center ones are just fine, but I think they look ugly as sin, plus I didn't notice any meaningful upgrades to the trigger. It's totally worth it if you want a ridiculously long barrel though.
>>34454465
I think he actually passed that bill I mentioned.
>>34451825
I'm more concerned if Dems will filibuster the SHARE act once it reaches the Senate. I highly doubt Reps will get rid of the filibuster just for this, cause they don't want to lose power if they become a minority again.
>>34454507
> shush act
So someone decides to introduce the HPA but under another name despite the SHARE act getting pushed?
There is a God, and he just answered.
>>34455698
>So someone decides to introduce the HPA but under another name despite the SHARE act getting pushed?
It's not the HPA, it's far better. SHUSH act completely deregulates silencers. You could mail order them from China straight to your house, if you wanted to, same as any other accessory. The HPA would treat them the same as Title I firearms.
Fuck the HPA.
>>34454465
Wasn't it Obama who signed that bill into law?
>>34455618
>>34455800
I guess it wasn't a very good joke. Sorry.
>>34452285
>so when antis vote no, the reps can "compromise" by trimming out the parts like letting people carry in national parks and all that shit
Except the exact opposite is going to happen. The HPA provisions will be the first to get stripped away, them the "sporting purpose" exemption will get cut. All so the republicans can claim a pointless, hollow victory for "gun owners" they claim to represent.
This is how democrat compromise works, has been for decades now. I don't know what fantasy land you guys are living in.
>>34455840
Or they'll flat-out filibuster it.

Few questions on those:
- why introduce two bills that state the same goal on the same day?
- if the bills are for the same thing, why did they wind up in different committees?
- if it's treated as a firearms accessory, does that mean it won't require background checks?
>>34460015
As best as I can answer:
>1. Same reason animals have multiple offspring: viability amid danger
>2. See above
>3. Yes
>>34460015
>why introduce two bills that state the same goal on the same day?
One is in the House and the other in the Senate...
>if it's treated as a firearms accessory, does that mean it won't require background checks?
It will be a completely unregulated item.

>>34455800
Yeah because IIRC they snuck it into the budget bill last second after everyone was tired of arguing over the budget, so it passed. Chief dindu either didn't read it or decided it wasn't worth a veto.
>>34455676
From what I remember, they can get rid of the filibuster for only a session if they want, so it's not like it'd be forever. While Reps hold a super majority, it's not like they really need filibuster anyway.
>>34455840
The difference this time though is that HPA had over 100 co sponsors, when most bills don't even get over 5 when it hits the floor of congress for a vote.
>>34460653
It was in a giant omnibus bill and it was a "poison pill" for the democrats to either swallow or kill the entire thing.
>>34460677
Filibustering is still important. Remember when Rand Paul filibustered for 10+ hours over the Patriot Act?

I often wonder, if it hasn't already, at what point does the cost of paperwork/enforcement pass the income made from stamps? I know that suppressor popularity is on the rise, but inflation marches on.
>>34452835
Why?
>Own a lathe and mill.
I can make one
>live on 15 acres beside a hunting club with a private range
Just why? I doubt the cops are ever going g to find out or care because I know the local sheriff and he's too busy catching druggies to care about someone breaking a law and not hurting anyone or anything
>>34460015
it would make it so suppressors are like muzzle brakes or interchangeable pistol grips. stuff that you can buy cheap chinese knockoff versions off of ebay.
>>34463135
A 300 BLK AR with a permanently-attached can would be a superb HD gun.
>>34451825
I'd rather that the SHUSH Act honestly
>>34463218
if SHARE passes, they'll sell AR barrels with welded on suppressors. It'll be glorious.
>>34463251
>AR barrels with welded on suppressors
I hope not; you wouldn't be able to get the barrel nut or gas block on.
>>34463421
vice blocks and captured nuts
>>34463251
Why not integrally suppressed barrels instead?
>>34462862
They arbitrarily decided M855 was legally AP even though it didn't fit even a single requirement of the legal definition. M855 is only still legal because enough people threw a fit about them that they backed off.
>>34463529
They're heavy, get hot faster than a normal barrel + can setup, and aren't that much quieter.
>>34461961
Pitt-Robertson act covers firearms parts and accessories too. They get 11% tax on the sale.
Unregulated suppressors will earn them more from increased sales than the NFA stamp did.
>>34463585
Huh, the more you know
I assumed integrally suppressed barrels would be better because 60% more suppressor per suppressor
>>34463620
Pitt Robertson funds get plowed back into the shooting sports so it's not a big deal.
>>34452285
Unfortunately went back to the hospital this morning due to an infection.
>>34463738
An integrally suppressed bbl is like a barrel with a suppressor, only more so.
It's shorter for the same level of noise reduction, sure, but having 60% more suppressor per suppressor also means at least 60% more weight and 60% more not needing a weaponlight because the cozy orange glow of your can is all the illumination you need.
For centerfire rifle calibers, integral cans generally aren't worth the bother.
>>34464258
Wouldn't an integrally suppressed AR be neat?
>.300memeout with rifle length rail system for lights, grips and dragon dildos
>>34464258
Right. I'll hold out for an integrally suppressed scorpion barrel then
>>34464800
This, grips on the outside of the can and have it be SBR length.
