What's the consensus on the kel tec ksg?
I don't have anything specific to say about the KSG but imho all pump action can go to hell. Autoloaders all the way for all applications.
>>34450116
I want something smaller than a saiga 12 without having to do ffl stuff
>>34450107
Used my friends KSG to shoot cans from an AR15 can launcher.
It's pretty sweet
The ability to switch between ammo types is cool
It does feel very cheap in the hands; like a Glock type feeling
Double the barrels double the fun.
>>34450359
Can't fit two Salvo 12s
It'd be nice if they fixed the feed issues, that is to say so you didn't have to rack it like a fifty cent whore to cycle.
>>34450626
The consensus on that is to not use cheap low brass shells on top of making sure you buy a g2 or newer. Tweeky youtube wannabe mallninjas kinda ruined its rep in the beginning about the jamming the G1 had *but then again could be them using cheap birdshot and short chucking* and wined about how the brass will cut you like a pre teen emo home alone on prom night if you held your wrist under the ejection port. High brass works just fine and wont lock. low is ok to use in practice just so you can figure out how your particular ksg will lock up and how to fix it quickly which i wouldn't find as too much of a con since you learn the gun more this way.
I bought the titanium model as my first and only shotty atm and can contest that you really want to run the gun with whatever loads you think/want to be running in it if it will be more than just a fun gun for you.
Id also add that with how small and slightly light weight-ness of the gun causes it to kick a good bit.
there is also a good aftermarket for it as well if your into that.
>>34450810
Brass has absolutely nothing to do with it.
>>34450107
It's a malfunctioning piece of shit, that I absolutely would NOT trust my life with.
At least get the extended capacity version.
>>34450820
Hmmm, thats odd because Ive certainly never had issues while using good quality HB vs when I use cheap shit LB bird shot. Im also certain any other ksg owner/group will also say the same thing . hell even the technicians at keltec even say so.
>>34450824
sorry it isnt idiot proof?
>>34450891
I can tell by the way you type that you have a sub-100 IQ, so I'll make this as simple as I can for you.
The issue is the last stiff quarter inch of bolt travel kicking out a new shell from the magazine tube. Please try reading a bit harder next time.
>>34450131
Benelli M4
>>34451103
> Please try reading a bit harder next time
> First mention of the info about bolt travel
> Accuses others of sub-100 IQ
I mean, thanks for the info for those of us monitoring the thread, but your delivery is just a mess. Also, you just seem kind of angry.
>>34451141
Read my first post and think critically.
>>34450116
Pump actions are fun. If you can't enjoy them, then you're probably an awful boring person and you should probably kys.
It works great if you're not retarded but it kicks like a mule.
I traded a Lancaster Arms AK for one. Had it for a few months ran ~1k shells through it. I did experience issues with low brass/low power rounds though. It's a cool gun, but I wouldn't trust my life with it, and wouldn't recommend it for HD (or any shotgun for that matter).
I did get a good laugh out of taking it sporting clay shooting though. My uncle, who is a bit of a fudd, and some other family all went when I was home on leave. I put the thing in a full size mossy oak case I had and when I pulled it out I got a shit load of strange rooms. I shot one round with it and then switched to my 870. It's compactness made it easy to overswing/over lead the clays in flight.
>>34451460
>or any shotgun for that matter
>>34451155
And which post is that? All I see is Anon talking to himself.
>>34450359
It doesnt shoot both barrels at once though. Its a fucking waste
Just got this guy the other day.
Sending the paperwork when I get my Sterling in so both can go at once.
The built in foregrip is great, both in terms of feel and now-you-won't-blow-your-hand-off factor. The light is also great, though I believe m it'll be blocked by the salvo 12.
The short stroke issue.
Last half centimeter or so of travel has to push some stiffy spring levers down. Which is pictured.
>>34451525
My personal recommendation. A pistol or carbine are far better in my opinion. Outside of personal preference there is no reason to use a shotgun when given the choice over a pistol, pistol caliber carbine/smg (Scorpion, MPX, etc.), or a carbine.
>>34451750
Substitute pistol with rifle and you're correct.
>>34450368
The solution is obvious: make a Salvo12 into a Twinlink 24.
>>34450359
Literally why
What loophole did they miss that the double 1911 didn't?
I'm so sick of everything new on the market being some neutered POS with a million excuses
>>34451978
What's wrong with it?
>>34451978
>double 1911
>legal
>>34452110
They are.
>>34452114
lmao no. 1 trigger + 2 bangs = 10 years no parole.
>>34452153
Has 2 triggers you troglodyte
>>34452170
There's you're fucking answer then.
>>34451978
Blame the lawmakers
>>34451750
I see your point about pistol caliber carbines, but im going to go with the fuddlore that using a regular old shotgun is less of a legal hassle
>>34451750
Except a shotgun at close range is a far more effective tool.
No problem with PCCs or intermediate cartridge rifles, but at close range a shotgun is more effective.
>>34450107
It's a faggot gun for faggots
>>34452153
It has 2 barrels m8
Other wise sxs shotguns would be machine guns
>>34450107
>>34450359
Good in an useful way. Ugly as fuck but well made.
DP12 especially is interesting. It allows you to get in between semi-automatic and pump action performance(you have two shots before you have to pump) while having less reliability problems than most typical semi-auto shotguns.
>>34450107
FULL
POUND
OF
LEAD
anything cheaper than high brass completely fucks out while feeding tho
>>34451909
One of the biggest reasons against using a shotgun for HD is its overall length. Notice I have carbine and not rifle?
>>34452337
>fuddlore
>>34452513
In what way is it more effective?
>>34452779
Don't be pedantic.
>>34452513
Yeah.
More effective at collateral damage.
10" 5.56 w/ 75gr OHP. Knocks people dead and disintegrates after two sheets of drywall.
>>34451661
So don't short stroke it?
WTF...
>>34452704
What is all this "high brass" memery i see here?
I have a KSG, and it has been reliable with all loads i have tried. Everything from shit low brass birdshot to cheap slugs to high brass, etc. Hell, it even works fine with those Aguila mini shells (fits 12x of the buckshot or 11x of the slugs in each tube).
Not sure why you people think the loads "power" has fuck all to do with it. It is a goddamn pump action, not a fucking autoloader.
>>34452830
Yup, I've got two of them and I was wondering the same thing.
>>34451124
>cheapest I can find is 1.5k
>>34452779
1 bang equals 1.5 oz of lead at your target.
If you opt for 000 buck you get 8 .360 sized holes in the bad guys chest with one shot. Each one going as fast as a handgun round.
Handgun wounds are generally survivable. So are intermediate cartridges. Shotguns, much less so.
>>34452795
>I move goalposts to make myself feel better about my AR
You can prefer your AR, I give no fucks. Terminal performance wise at close range (as specified) the 12 gauge has more effective terminal ballistics.
Fucking trash. Just get a real shotgun like a 500 or 870.
>>34450107
Yew caint hun ducks with that assault weapon
>>34450869
i really wish i didn't want this as much as i do
>>34452970
Get a Benelli M2. It's lighter and more modular. It's been dominating the 3 gun circuit for years for a reason.
>>34454036
They're out now. Get one.
>34454036
40 minishells, anon. do it.
>>34454036
>>34454808
goddammit
>>34452110
>>34452153
Volley fire weaponry isn't illegal, numbnuts.
I have one of those in my closet, great gun, massive amount capacity.
It's a fun meme.
Very easy to short stroke, so I would not recommend for HD. Even if you train like a mad man, a good semi will out perform it in every way EXCEPT capacity. Unless you have a saiga 12 with drums.
>>34456135
how many more rounds can i fit if i use a saiga drum and mini shells? i should like double what i can carry
>>34456152
Drum mag holds the same amount of mini shells as normal shells.
>>34456152
mini shells wouldn't matter at all for any type of vertical mag loading..drum or otherwise. mini shells only increase capacity in tubuler magazines.
Good meme
