Are surplus gas masks all not working? Where do you obtain a gas mask that actually works against NBC? Preferably one that accepts common filters.
I live in Canada btw.
>>34449146
Canadian c4 is cbrn rated and you should be able to get one relatively easy ..a couple other good ones that take nato 40mm filters(the most common) m95,m40,c50,mp5 and plenty more (pic is cad c4)
>>34448803
yes
>>34449177
m53 lucky fucker ..getting a twin port one for my next mask
Be careful with the WW2 era masks and with eastern bloc masks, especially Russian. They have asbestos in the filters and some have toxic heavy metals like chromium in the filters.
Filter safety chart.
Of course, where do you think you are?

3M full face 6 or 7000 series with multigas cartridges equipped with P-100 prefilters. Recommended by both OSHA and CDC for CBRN use, up to and including V series nerve gas.
Of course, you'll need the rest of the protective gear plus training for any of it to do you any good. But you already knew that, right?
Quick shopping list-
Tyvek coveralls, with impermeable coating.
Nitrile gloves.
Tyvek hood with cape.
Rubber boots, the kind that are smooth on the outside.
Duct tape.
Less than $500 all in, you have up to 15 minutes of protection. Use the time to evac.
Go another $200, make the respirator a PAPR rig and life in the zone gets a little easier. You can also use a PAPR set up to make an evac pod for infants, small pets, or casualties.

>every cbrn threat is nerve gas
there are a fuck ton of potential cbrn threats including some chemical ones that will only harm you if they are inhaled or get in mucous membranes (eyes, mouth)
>>34448803
No.
Because of reasons.
>>34449374
How will you detect the agent in time to don your gear and how will you decon?
>>34449480
not him but
detection
>friend in nearby position starts screaming over the radio that they're being attack by chemical agents
>put gear on
decon
>camp shower and household bleach will decon vx agents

I used to until I ETS'd and, upon taking inventory, found that someone stole my unsigned for extra.
Fucking privates stealing my shit.

Are there alternatives to the EO-19E that are safer than surplus asbestos?
>>34448803
My plan is to build up an immunity to chemical weapons by exposing myself to small amounts of chlorine and gradually increasing the concentration. Filters wear out and you can't just buy replacements in SHTF.
>>34448803
Yup same Dutch gasmask you have the black one on the bottom right.
Do you also have the bag?
