Hey /k/
Got myself an AK a while back, in the business of buying mags for it. I have 2 "AK pmags" but I hear a lot of mixed reviews on them. What has yalls experience with them been? Should I keep buying them? If not what would be the best and most cost effective mags to get?

TAPCO is the best AK mag OP, anyone that says different is clearly a troll.

I've got a few of them and they've worked for me.
I don't abuse them at all either so idk about long term reliability, but if that's what you're after just buy a box of those Croatian blemished magazines that PSA sells every now and then, all steel and they come lightly oiled and individually sealed in plastic bags. I think they average out to like 7 or 8 bucks each when you buy them in bulk.
Next time throw this up in the ak general and there might be some useful shit on mags in this https://pastebin.com/YdEkhdva

be prepared to hammer out dents that stop them from functioning and clean off some rust but these are very solid mags for very little money.

Stick to surplus. If it was manufactured by a country that used ak's then they are good to go.

Just get the Polish refurb mags off of Aim and shut up about it. They work great in my WASR.
That said, the PMags aren't bad. I use them as backups for my Polish mags/training mags since my surplus ones are retardedly heavy

the time you and ammo you waste "fixing" and vetting the "fixed" mags outweighs the money saved

You're welcome.
Circle 10s are regarded as the best. They're all I buy. Expensive though at $50 a piece.

Why though. 50 bucks a pop is a /lot/ for a magazine.
I just buy tapco and rub some CLP on the inside of it when I first get it, to lube up the plastic a bit.
Never had any problems.

depends on how good you are with your hands, if it looks like too much trouble for you it probably is.

I love the story behind that picture

If you have to ask, pmags will be plenty strong enough for you since the most abuse you'll put them through is the dust you'll let them collect

the croats claim the newest shipped ones addressed this.

Oh fuck.
I've got 4 Bakelite, 3 chinese, and four Bulgarian.
That's...intresting..
I dropped them fully loaded on carpeted concrete and it cracked the feed lips at the rear of the magazine. They still work fine and the crack is minuscule. Don't drop your mags on concrete.

"No"

I have several brands of mags I bought before I found pmags but once I found those, that's the only mag I'll buy. Unlike other brands these seat extremely well with 0 wobble, feed perfectly, and look excellent. Even a metal factory mag had a little magazine wobble but these don't.

Didn't know that.
Will take under advisement.

What are these, Indian mags?
>>34445888
All yugoshit is like that. I made the mistake if buying a pack of them after I had one that fit decently. Now I have 2 that fit decently and 7 that take 30 seconds to shove in the magwell.

Mags are the life blood of your rifle. If your mag fails your rifle fails.
