You like wood furniture? Get wood furniture.

I that the service rifle from Skyrim?
>>
>>34440155
I mean will I get laughed at. Also curious as to how much worse it handles heat
>>
>>34440141
Wood is fine for a range gun. Not exactly the most robust furniture for the AR.

I'd love for a company in china to make some beater wood sets for like $20. But for $200, be ready to baby that rifle.
>>
>>34440167
No, it's the infinity gauntlet fro beyblade.
>>
>>34440155

This.

Go forth and sport wood.
Sport your wood proudly. Walk about with your woody, exposed.

Then report back to us.
>>
>>34440176
>Laughed at.
Probably get some head turns from RO's.
As far as heat, rifle is fine.

t. meme
>>
>>34440141
If you get wood furniture get ready for different sounds compared to composite wen the gun operates.
>>
>>34440214
Oh the ole "murdered mother in a home invasion" mem.
>>
>>34440176
>will I get laughed at.
For a moment, I imagined giving a fuck about being laughed at.
Then I came to my senses and laughed it off.
>>
>>34440177
>200 bucks.
Shit, glad I got mine free.
>>
Why not just make your own?
>>
Just make sure you put a super-high gloss poly on it.

how would one go about doing this? I would think about just taking it to a CNC woodworking shop to have it done but idk how much that would cost

Oh shit. USMCDOC14's copper AR. There used to be a build thread on pirate 4x4 if photobucket has not fucked it. Dude has some legit youtube videos on building AK parts kits as well as AR 80% lower stuff.

Dont be a fucking tool. If you feel peer pressure from my post alone, reassess the importance of valuing yourself based on feedback from other people.

In this contemporary land, you will get no weird looks, maybe some compliments. Handling wise, it makes for a heavier gun. A heavier gun generates less perceived recoil and movement. Since you are not a guy out ruck sacking in the wilderness, its a fine choice of aesthetics.

That being said, I will slap the living shit out of you if you use Straight grain pattern like in the picture you posted. Get Burl pattern wood.

step 1. Buy burl grain wood.
step 2. Take your existing furntirue to a wood worker and ask him to reproduce, but in burl.
step 3. Be happy.

Find some oldschool bakelite as an alternative.

guesstimate on price for such a procedure?

burl is not very strong. most burl wood is veneered with plywood for strength.

everyone says this but the only 20 round mags I have are Vietnam issue.
it wouldn't look right with a worn mag and it would be an injustice to paint a Vietnam mag black.

>>34440141
Why hasn't anybody made one of these with a low-profile gas block and full length handguard?
>>
>>34440919
Straight grain can be solid wood, try making anything large and at all durable out of (non-stabilized (i.e. resin filled) solid burl.
I'd have solid ash, oak, zebrano or even arctic circle pine rather plasticky burl or what's essentially burl-wrap around MDF.
>>
>>34440919
Burl just looks messy. Like a teenager who doesn't comb his hair.
>>
>>34444851
I've considered veneer wrapping a free float handguard.
