They do get kind of a lot of work, but its fairly mundane mostly. Oh and a shit-ton of practice and method developement in preparation for the next nazi/ISISish attack. Lots of time to practice with the police special units to be able to support them. Seems like one of the better jobs to have as a LEO

Egyptian EOD tech think he was a general.....anyway they had a suspicious item near the pumps...it appeared to be a plant sitting in a vase....what gets me is they beat us to death with it is that if its just a hazard to property...then stay remote go get a sick for gods sake or rig it.....the only thing I can think of is that he either thought it was bullshit, or he wanted to impress someone....muslims are mindless like that....But he was dead pretty fast either way....

Also, You can go teach ( bomb tech schools, AT, CBRNE) or you can work for the civilian military industrial complex (northrop grumman) or you can be a cop....which there is no guaranteed path...

I was a deminer for about two years in the Army after 4 years as an infantryman
I thought the eod branch would be a "level up" and new interesting field but it was so fucking boring and i never had so stupid comrades who thought they were badass with their tacticool gear
I m so happy that i quit and leave this shittie branch after my education

Stepdad was an EOD back right at the end of Vietnam and a few years after. He's told me some stories about blowing shit up and all the weird superstitions those guys have.

Not EOD, but it is entertaining to watch them haze their boots.Im working then I hear the pitter patter of a fuck heavy suit racing at top speed past my shop.Usially they are carting something like a toilet seat or what i belive is a toolbox.

Current EOD here, its amusing to see how far back the "shadow passing over the fuse" myth/legend permeates. The schoolhouse used to actually fail people for shit like that on test/practice problems but the myth has been buried for the most part.
