New Russian Cruiser approved by the Ruskie Govermnent
>>34433258
More money they don't really have not getting invested into infrastructure, diversification of the economy, or anything else that might help the country afford to keep up the arms race long term.
They're gonna start on a supercarrier any day now, aren't they?

Lol no. Lider class still has no approved design.
That's just some shit college level design by a firm hoping for some R&D money.
But this one has been approved already as 22350M.

The Russian economy, technically small, is based on actual natural resources, while the American economy, technically huge, is based on Jew financial fraud.

US economy is still based on the industry and technology built during the Golden Age of Capitalism when finance was repressed. Financiers need to have real resources to steal.
>>34433549
and agriculture
and manufacturing
and education
and medicine
and resource extraction
the US economy is very well diversified wich is why our economy didn't totally tank when petroleum prices dropped like Russia's
>>34433298
Almost all new ships carry land attack missile, from the offshore patrol ship 22160 to icebreakers 23550.

>>34433298
Cruisers aren't a modern system.
It's just a 10k ton destroyer.
Designation is about it's intended use.
That's why Germany has a fucking frigate thats heavier than a Burke.

>>34433549
About 40% of the US economy is manufacturing. Add to that the most diversified economy on the planet and you might glimpse why we only have blips in our long term growth.

>>34433282

>>34433532
Me Three,
Why is it so small? Is that a cruiser for ants?
I think Russia finally has enough of these models to build there room sized battleship game board in the Kremlin.
>>34433258
This monstrosity is total waste of money and time.
Why not build like dozen of ocean going patrol ships armed with VLS and a gun? Something like israeli Sa'ar 5.
These days you cun put VLS on a tug and call it a frigate.
Wit current russian economic situation it will be much better decision.

>>34437421
They're actually building them. Frigates like Project 20386 and Ocean going Missile boats like Project 22800 Karakurt.
>>34433651
It just says they're making a new destroyer line, which is the Lider class, but it did not say that there is already an approved design.
>>34433258
Wow, how big is that? 36"?
>>34437421
>This monstrosity is total waste of money and time.
The reason they are building destroyers/cruisers isn't because they need more VLS but because they need Real Estate to carry the big radars. The navy's current largest orders for surface ships are for small ships carrying UKSK multipurpose VLS. What they lack are ocean going ships carrying anti-air S-400 sensors or anti-ballistic S-500 sensors.
>>34433258
>>34433540
Let me know when one actually comes off the assembly line.
>>34437421
>These days you cun put VLS on a tug and call it a frigate.
http://www.janes.com/article/69803/russian-project-23550-arctic-patrol-ship-laid-down
The multipurpose Ivan Papanin will combine the performance of a tugboat, an icebreaker and a patrol vessel. The ship has a displacement of 8,500 tonnes, a length of 110 m, a width of 20 m, a draught of about 6 m, a speed of 16 kt, a crew of 60 with room for an additional 50, and an endurance of 60 days.
This tugboat carries land attack cruise missiles.
