Might as well shoot live rounds, being as firing a blank is also discharging a firearm, and the penalty will be the same.

I have some .308 blanks, and they are fucking LOUD AS FUCK. WAY louder than a normal round. IDK if it's because of what I am shooting them out of or not, but they are fucking crazy loud.

I have some old Austrian blanks from the late 80's and they're not very loud, but won't cycle a semi-auto either.

I live out in bumfuck nowhere so shooting isn't a problem.

Fire when they're shooting. Also, it's rare for police to respond to noise shit on July 4 because it's going on everywhere, unless you live in some Nazi area that doesn't allow fireworks.

I don't shoot shit on July 4 though, nor do I fly flags or celebrate. I celebrate Dec 20, Feb 4, and Feb 8.

What about smaller cartridge blanks like 9mm and 22lr? Do you think they'd "blend in" with the fireworks more than rifle cartridges?

Blanks make less noise than a live round, and I'll tell you why. Most of the noise from a gunshot comes from the bullet going supersonic.

Be aware of mercury residue.

Do not fire blanks indoors or without proper compression or else unburnt powder will cause a hazard (especially when you vacuum).
