Loud is subjective and conditional, if I'm in an open field, my .308 AR with can is hearing safe, but if I'm near a tree line or under a roof, hearing protection is definitely needed.

FFLs are only for people who buy and sell a bunch of guns in a year. You can have it shipped to someone with the appropriate license (i.e. a gun store) There he will have you fill out the background check and if you get O.K.'d you pay him a transfer free for having it shipped to him.

I picked up a CTR in 308 just last week. Shoots like a dream. all of one shot zero at 200 yards, dialed, put 19 more rounds into a 1.12" hole. 6.5 should be scary accurate too.

yes. unless your doing a private party sale the gun needs to be transferred though a ffl. it doesnt mean YOU need to be a ffl, just means it needs to be shipped to one. call your favorite LGS and they'll walk you through the process, its not hard but can be confusing the first time you do it.

What scope you got on there? Any suggestions for a good scope that zooms to 10 or 15x thats under 200?

Will sports authority accept the shipment? Theres one close to me and they have a gun section.

What I have is a Vortex PST Gen II 3-15 FFP. As for a scope under $200, you could look at the Crossfire II series. They have a 4-12 AO model that goes for about $189.

I would recommend putting a little more money into glass though. If you can swing it, I'd recommend getting at least a diamondback.
