I spent thousands of dollars on extra light backpacking gear. Extra cash to save a few grams. It's frustrating then when you 44mag weighs a fuckton. I don't even carry mine anymore. For innawood, 357sig will do anything 10mm will but I can get it in basically a Glock 19/17. Its smaller lighter than Glock 29/20 and more reliable than a Delta Elite while having more capacity.

I mean 10mm is cool and all if you hand load or buy boutique ammo but I'd still want more for brown bear and 357sig is adequate for black bear. It's also as adequate for barrier penetration through car bodies or whatever.

I carry a USPc .40 every day. The USPc was actually originally designed to shoot .40, and the 9 is the .40 frame with material milled out of the slide so it would cycle properly. Honestly it's preference and price. .40 has more energy than 9mm and can cause hydrostatic shock but 9mm is somewhat cheaper and has more variety of ammo.

I'm biased but I say USPc in 40, USP full size in 45. Those are what they are designed to shoot and that's what I want them in.

Still even so I would choose these two if I had to choose between. Also I would be getting a Glock 20 for the 10mm caliber so that I can reliably shoot 40sw out of it too (its one of those niche weapons that can just do that sorta thing).

I guess its sorta like the .327 federal, pretty much a .357 in terms of firepower but in a narrower bullet. Probably performs just as well but for a revolver it means being able to put +1 in the cylinder, or keep it subcompact.

This is a good idea (10mm Magnum) but the question will always be what kind of market would it take to get it going. Its a rimless round so it wont bode well for revolvers, it might work in an M1 carbine or AR-15 conversion but then you're competing with 5.56mm. About the only place you can put the 10mmMacho is in a large grip handgun like the Desert Eagle, which has a highly limited market share.

Most of the .44 mags are either Lever Action or Revolvers. I guess it could be pitched as a lever action round but until 10mmM got off the ground it would be fighting against the existing magnum LA's which are already quite effective and reliable (and .357 hits just as hard as a .44 revolver when shot out of a lever).

Right now its a matter of infrastructure, its an excellent round, probably as good as it gets for the size and form factor, but its got competition from the things that succeeded it (also 10mm Auto is no joke, and is more practical in terms of form factor, even if its about 300 ft-lb shy).
