do you mean grip as in the part of the firearm, or grip as in how/where ones hands are placed

It depends on the gun.
You want a grip shape that is ideal for the gun sitting in line with your hand, pointing naturally with your index finger. If you have to bend your hand up or down to get aiming the grip angle is probably shit.
Everything else is subjective.
