It's primary purpose is to keep you, and only you alive. Don't be using it on someone else, there are really only enough supplies in there to keep 1 patient from dying, and that should be the person carrying it. If you need to treat more than one casualty, you need a medbag.

Once boots got their IFAK from CIF/IIF/WTFI'vebeeninline12hours, we had them organize them in a standardize fashion, then told them never to rearrange or touch the fucking thing. We taught Marines to use the IFAK on the casualty first, because you don't your IFAK empty if you get hit.
