Hey /k/, I've decided to purchase the StG-N. However, I am unsure what caliber to use for it. I'd appreciate adive on chossing, thanks.
>>
Oh, the calibers available are
>7.62x39
>.223
>.300 blackout
>7.92x33
>>
>>34425111
>advise on choosing
Probably should've proofread.
>>
>>34425132
.300 Blackout. You're supposed to be able to use standard AR mags in the other calibers iirc.
>>
>>34425111
8x33. Both PPU and Hornady make it. If you're dropping 2 grand on a replica might as well have it as close as you can get to the real thing.
>>
>>34425348
Thanks for the help, I was leaning on choosing this one anyways.
>>
>>34425364
I appreciate the suggestion, but I really liked this one because it was an old design firing new cartridges.

.300 blackout for sure.
Your spending $$$$ on a rifle that is going to trigger all the autists on /k/ anyways might as well get a round that will do the same. Plus it's just kinda a cool oddball round to put in your cool, oddball rifle.

Do these thing use STANAG magazines or proprietary?
>>
>>34425471
Im guessing if it's chambered .300 than it should be able to use STANAG mags, I don't know for sure though. I was planning on using the stock mags it comes with.
>>
>>34425111
I plan on getting one in 300 blackout. Only plan on getting one cause I'm a fucking Massfag.

Assuming you actually do this, anon, you need to let us know how it handles when you get it.

Price of ammo is higher than 5.56 but you probably already knew that.

People hate the 300blackout just because /k/ told them too. Same as with that rifle. Get that rifle in 300memeout and watch /k/ loose it's collective shit.
>>
>>34425111
7.62x39 is the only choice--if it uses AK mags, which are available, cheap, and work. If it doesn't, then I don't know why it exists in the first place.

If you're going to drop two grand on a range toy, you might as well be able to shoot the fuck out of it and get your money's worth of enjoyment from it with cheap mags and ammo.

If it uses original StG44 mags (unobtainium), AR type mags (all in 7.62x39mm are dogshit, because the AR type rifles' mag well is too short front to back to accommodate the cartridge stacked in the curve it was designed for), .223 (why? just why?) or .300 Memeout (no, just no, you are a bad person and should feel bad for even considering a hipster meme cartridge that's going to be discontinued and forgotten in five years, just like 6.8mm SPC, just like 6.5mm Grendel, just like .270 Winchester Short Super Magnum, .17 K-Hornet, .204 Ruger, and all the other bullshit meme calibers introduced in the last decade that no one asked for and no one wanted).

Yeah ok
>>
>>34428182
HMG is making their own magazines, too.
>>
>>34429723
The HMG Sturmgewehr magazine meets NATO STANAG 4179 specifications and are compatible with all rifles that accept AR-15/M16/M4 magazines. All HMG Sturmgewehr magazines are manufactured in house. These polymer magazines are high capacity; holding approx 50 rnds of .223 and 300BLK and 30 rounds of 7.62 x 39 and 7.92 x 33 (8mm kurz). These magazines are designed to maintain the appearance of the original StG 44 magazine while keeping the cost very affordable.
>>
>>34425111
just get a real el-be-tac stg
pretty much authentic
>>
>>34425111
Personally I would buy it in 7.62x39mm, since it and 7.92x33mm are balistically very similar but x39 is plentiful.
>>
>>34429673
.270 WSSM is a thing?
>>
>>34430304
Supposedly. I can't say that I've ever seen, in person anyways, a rifle chambered in it, ammo for it, or even reloading supplies. I'm pretty sure it's a myth, as the only time I've ever seen or heard of it is while reading those Bible size Cabelas catalogs.

Ian and Karl did a video on the girls when it premiered at Shot show a while back. If I remember correctly the rifle is actually a bit heavier than an original STG so they said to get the authentic feel go 7.62 x 39. That being said, I would not do 300 blackout cause why without a supressor? Personally I feel the mag shape might feed better with 5.56, and OG 7.92 x 33 is expensive unless you reload. If it were me Id go 5.56 or 7.62 x 39 cause of ammo availability
>>

I got a few calibers for it and the P.

SMG Guns does it with FG42s
OOW does it with BARs
SSD in Germany does it with StGs, MP38s, G43s, and FG42s and they do it for the much much smaller Euro market
>>
>>34432994
if it's not a replica, then what's the point?
a heavier, probably less reliable, less aftermarket than an AR or an AK, but it looks vaguely like a real StG?

for $1800, I could buy a rare AK kit and have it built by a good builder or build a very very riced out AR-15 and either option would be better in every way than this

HMG made a lazy halfassed replica/reproduction/evolution/whatever HMGIDF is calling it these days to justify not actually looking or functioning like an StG44

I've had mine on preorder since nov 2015. I even have a replacement stock and ejection port cover ready to go.

I went with 7.62X39, the main reason is because it's affordability and availability. And the 39 is basically the same idea and concept as the Kurz
