what do you think of ww2 soviet weapondry?
>>34422455
love it. my mosin really changed me.
>>34422455
heck of a shotgun.
WWII Soviet gear was either WWI relics, lend-lease, or barebones wartime shit. not much more to it.
>>34422455
Sweet shotgun. Is it an A5?

Don't bother attention whoring further, just know that it's really obvious.
pretty good shit, as far as they could get it produced. by all means, the SVT-40 was as good as if not better than the M1, but they didn't have the training or production to put them into mass service. their mortars were a bit wonky, but that's it. the DP-12 and PPsh-41 were sought after war captures. other stuff like the mosin, PPS-43 and TT-33 were decent but unexceptional.
>>34422466
>these are the people you're arguing with
Better small arms than all other nations, The Germans where really the only other that could give them a run for there money with the MP40, STG44, MG34, and MG42. Tanks and artillery are a toss up Between Russia and Germany. Aircraft is anyone game. Americans, Germans, Britts, and Japs all had quality planes in there own right.

If I didn't see the face, I wouldn't know it was a tranny.
>>34422455
Mosin? Eh, pretty garbage, but still fun.
The PPSH is cool as fuck though, simple mechanism, even the "safety" is a joke and the ROF is fuckin insane.
>>34424109
The only decent plane the Japs had were the Mitsubishi Zero though.
>>34424109
Dude what are you on? Ferman probably had teh best infantry machine guns, no one could top them in that field. Now, SMGs everyone except probably the Japanese made a decent one that performed it's role well. Bolt action rifles, the Brits beat everyone with the Lee-Enfield. Semi-auto battle rifles is a toss up between the US and Russia, on the one hand the garand was easily mass produced but adding rounds to an already loaded rifle was a somewhat painstaking process, 30-06 also has better ballistic characteristics than 7.67x57mm. The SVT-40 was not mass produced like the mosin sadly but it did have a detachable box magazine so that was a nice feature, I believe it also held 10 rounds instead of 8. Now I do not know what you are talking about with the planes there but in the end, the Brits had the best air superiority fighters and the Americans had the best multi role fighters.

Are you blind on top of being retarded?
SVT-40s are shit just like Memesins. They're only good in comparison to the garbage G41, K98 that the Nazis showed up with.
Americans meme them up because they're expensive here. Canadians get them on the cheap and they're much more real about them being garbage.

he's quoting a meme you faggot

>>34425792
I haven't fired an SVT, but I don't hear good things about them compared to the Garand. The box magazines weren't really an advantage when there were only 2 per rifle.
>>34426065
The Soviets originally issued three mags per rifle. The mags were also marked with rifle serial number and number (1, 2 or 3) indicating which of the three mag each of them was.
BTW: The leather mag pouch issued for them (to carry two of the mags) is total POS
>>34422455
Soviet small arms were good enough.
The main problem is that between the start of Barbarossa and 1 Jan 1942 the Soviets lost over 5,000,000 small arms. At that point simply getting enough guns to the front as fast as possible becomes the most important factor and most of the Soviet small arms modernization programs died as they would have required pausing production.
The only area that the Red Army was seriously deficient in was infantry anti-tank weapons. While the PTRS and PTRD were excellent anti-tank rifles, to the point that they still see use as AMRs, the 14.5mm round was simply not enough for mid/late war tanks. The Red Army was the only major combatant other then the IJA which failed to replace anti-tank rifles with a ranged hollow charge anti-tank weapon.
>>34424109
Apart from the dp28, everything the soviet had was better than the krauts in terms of small arms..
