They are a VERY overloaded salute rocket. Essentially it is a 1.3g rocket intentionally mislabeled as 1.4g (consumer fireworks designation) so it can be sold to the public. Shadier companies do this every year, and the rocket will never have the same name 2 years in a row to prevent the cpsc or atf from catching on. These Slayer branded rockets are the loudest I've ever come across. There is another one out this year with green foil labeled Alien Warrior that is supposed to be louder than the Slayers but I haven't found any in my are. I'm having trouble making my ANFO go off. Using HMTD blasting caps. First of all, usually the fuse smothers before reaching the cap. Secondly, a lot of the time the cap detonates, but the ANFO doesn't go off. I've only had one successful test, out of five.

Any idea what I can do better?

Right now, I'm using HMTD in a blasting cap made of a drinking straw and sealed with superglue and tape. ANFO is kept in a pill or spice bottle with a small hole drilled to fit fuse through. The fuel oil I use is Coleman stove fuel--would kerosene work better? And is there a better fuse material I could use that will not smother?

For my fireworks, I just went to the Pahrump NV superlocation for Phantom Fireworks. Got plenty of mortars, rockets, bottle rockets, firecrackers, ETC, for a nice price. ALSO, be fucking careful when you're crossing state lines, because LE has been known for years to have aggressive checkpoints near the 4th of july, at the CA-NV borders. I went to Las Vegas / Pahrump on spring break, so no police were really looking for anything. I don't know how it's gonna be on the last day before the fourth. Next time, go a few months earlier.

I live in a "safe and sane" state, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to make something that goes boom. I have a number of those El cheapo smoke balls that have cardboard spheres around the smoke. How could I seal that cardboard to make it into a cherry bomb? Looking for something like a liquid adhesive, tape looks like shit and rarely works for me.

I buy my materials from a small company that sets up at gun shows in my area. They sell their own brand of exploding targets as well as all kinds of pyro components, chemicals, tubes etc. They don't have signage shouting "Build your own m-80 kits sold here!" But it's pretty obvious if you know what to look for. It's easy enough to buy it online if your comfortable doing so. Just buy each component from a different place though, most won't allow your order to go through if it's obvious you are trying to make flash powder. Contrary to popular belief, it's not illegal to make flash powder. You just can't store it or transport if. Same rules as tannerite, has to be mixed and used on site.

Gonna make my own pyrotechnics and have some fun innawoods with some friends though, is copper or iron oxide better for making thermite? I've heard that Cu is much more explosive and unstable but I'm not entirely sure. Prob gonna light it with Magnesium strips so I can stay a safe distance.

Copper oxide is better as it potentially will allow you to make some other cool shit. Copper thermite is technically for welding copper terminals of a certain gauge. It can react somewhat like flash when contained unlike standard thermite.

All in all if near NH just go there buy some good stuff. If near a more cucked state that still sells some fireworks, like RI: One could get ground boom flowers. These are ground fireworks that spin on the ground and then ignite a display of color and reports. One can turn them into rockets with a drill, scotch tape, and cooking skewers. Start by removing fuse from side and plugging the hole with paper wad and scotch tape. Drill a hole into bottom with a small bit a good 1/2 inch or a bit more so it has enough thrust to leave the ground and insert fuse. Attach a skewer to side with tape for stability and launch from glass bottle or pipe stuck in ground. If the ground boom flower has a report or what is called stars they will be set off at the apogee of flight and make for a cool display. Be safe. Don't do any of this btw. Mass cops can be assholes and mass residents can be like snitching grandmas peeking from behind curtains
