That's the Overload. I haven't actually used it yet but as far as fitment and weight distribution it is great. It's hard to find a frame that fits because I'm tall, and they have sizing ranges for anyone.

I attached a usmc combat tent to the bottom and didn't like it, so I put it on the front bottom and it pushes the weight forward into the hips. The rifle on the side doesn't really feel like it's offset but you can also put it between the frame and pack.

The only thing that I don't like is the direction the hip straps tighten, but since it is so padded I can cinch it to my size and tuck the straps behind the molle area.


Experience is from usmc ilbe and filbe, and the various other civilian brands I've tried on.

Going to be doing quite a bit of traveling and backpacking through Kanuckistan in about a week and as it so turns out, my old duffel bag has gone to shit.

Have a buddy who's ex mil speak quite highly of them, reviews that I've found have said they either weigh too oddly, which obviously comes down to them packing wrongly or are fantastic with way too many straps than what they're good for, but duct tape always fixes that.

Go to take a look and for a sweet 25 plus shipping, but also in Woodland for that Wisconsinite goodness, I'm half tempted to say the hell with it and give it a shot.

How would you guys go about modding a Chink chest rig? I'm planning on getting some canvas from Walmart, sewing a chest piece onto the straps and the inside of the pockets, putting on MOLLE webbing and velcro for patches. I'm also going to add a pocket for a 6x8 level 3A soft plate plate to it, since that's the biggest that can fit in the space available. I'd use a steel plate but there's basically no weight on the back, so it'd be even more front heavy than it already is.

Just curious do you know the exact math involved? IIRC esapis are 5.5lbs, and current level iv pe/ceramic composite plates are just shy of 6lbs. So without the need for soft armor it should be overall lighter, or the same weight with less bulk

I like my battle belt setup quite a bit, but it is honestly closer to a web gear rig in that I use suspenders and have some sustainment (2L of water) on it.

I've been using it for over a year now, with maybe 1k rounds fired while wearing it. I've got the ATS belt, and I've been planning on upgrading it to the HSGI Sure Grip with elastized suspenders.

For what you have pictured, you could swing the slim belt, but I would suggest the 3 row one as the movement thing really isn't that bad.
