Pawnshop by my house has a
.380 Deutsche Werke Ortgies pistol for $400 (I could probably talk them down to $350). Is it worth it?

Looks familiar. I think Ian did a video on it.

/k/ doesn't care too much about old pistols that aren't terribly rare. I had a Sauer and Sohn 38h and nobody was ever really interested. Not that any of that matters, that's just why there's a lack of opinion in this thread.

It will be an interesting conversation piece if you come across somebody that knows what it is. I have no clue what they're worth though...

I have one in .32 Mine's beat to shit. Interesting firearm. Not a single screw in the damn things.

If you get it, be careful taking it apart. The firing spring follower will fly away to the land of the lost parts. Yours will probable have a cut off nail as a follower. Most of the ones I've seen do.

I have one in .32 ACP. They are a neat well made pistol.

I also have the .32 version, very neat pistol very accurate and fun to shoot. the price you are looking at is about what you should expect for one in good shape. Be aware that the only safety is usually the grip safety which is manually operated by pushing the button on the side to pop out the grip safety, although I have heard of there being an additional safety on some models I have never run across it irl.

Had one, got rid of it.

Some of the internals are stamped (sear) and it causes problems when it wears.
