What are the most reliable brands, and some brands to avoid?

I'm looking to buy a .223 DI AR15, 14", with quad rails.

Pic unrelated.
>>
Top Tier Brands
Bravo Company (BCM)
Colt
Daniel Defense (DD)
Larue
Lewis Machine & Tool (LMT)
LWRC
Noveske

Mid Tier Brands
Anderson
Aero Precision
FNH
Rainier Arms
Ruger
Sig Sauer
Smith & Wesson
Spike’s
>>
>>34406887

Drop Colt and BCM down into Mid Tier. Anderson, Areo, Rainier, Smith and Wesson, Ruger, Sig - all in entry level tier. Otherwise, very accurate.
>>
It's an AR. If you spend a load you're doing it wrong. Keep it at around 1k and spend the rest on ammo.
>>
>>34406525
Not really much of a difference between any of them.
Only real difference you'll find is in the barrel quality and also the features.
For barrel makers I'd go with x caliber barrels or ballistic advantage.
For example, quick change barrel system with drd tactical or ambidextrous for the lower.
Also many higher end brands are billet, less strong than forged.

I would go with
Mega arms
LMT
Daniel defense
Noveske

this will cost you around 1.5-2.5k
>>
The differences between most reputable AR manufacturers are minimal, mostly coming down to overall price of the parts used as well as fit/finish.

I've heard the Schmeisser are excellent, too.

How to choose in terms of metal used and barrel type?

How about Seekins Precision rifles? Specifically the SP15? Couldn't find a whole lot of reviews.

Their qc is a lot better imo but lowers are all the same
>>
>>34406525
Add KAC, POF, and YHM to top tier
Add RRA to shit tier

I'm not sure where Seekins and VLTOR go.
>>
What about DPMS for entry? I know that their .308's are solid, what about standard configs?
>>
>>34410439
They're meh. Perfectly fine for range stuff and basic plinking- but you can do better for the money when it comes to their .223 and 5.56 stuff. I had a DPMS for a bit and it didn't like most aftermarket magazines, the stock it came with felt like airsoft-gun plastic, and it has some fucking annoying railed gas block for BUIS but it doesn't align with the reciever's rail so you have to replace the gas block if you want to use iron sights at all. Also, although this may be anecdotal, mine had an annoying tendency to refuse to drop mags after like 100 rounds and you'd have to actually rip the magazines out with a sizeable amount of effort.

No

Post AR

>>34408221
You repeated every brand in entry tier from mid tier, unless that's intentional because you're trying to say they make both kinds.

Neat. Does it fit well in a backpack?
>>
>>34414489
Yep. Only complaint I ever had was I never found a way to attach the can to the side so it has to be stored separately in a pouch or something.
>>
>>34414495
What size barrel?

Looks nice
>>
>>34414495
Velcro tape maybe?
>>
>>34414597
8 or 8.5, can't remember. Been about five years since I built it.
>>34414621
Then it gets all scratched up. Considered paracording a can pouch to the side through the handguard but it seems tacky, so I decided to just leave it.
>>
Are there any top tier makers who make a 308 that isn't 3-4k?

Palmetto State Armory as long as you do your research and get exactly what you want. Their lowers are all pretty much the same. The uppers vary in every aspect. Both of mine have FN cold hammer forged barrels, and A2 front sight posts. Mine has performed flawlessly every time

How do you guys think about SLR and Falkor? I like those manufactures since they create new looking stuffs.

Somewhat related, anyone have experience with Faxon barrels, specifically the 16in mid length gunner profile?

I'm torn between it and a PSA Premium, considering the Faxon is notable cheaper.

Anyone have experience about Schmeisser?
Pic related is the one I'm going to buy. Most of the top brands you are recommanding aren't available in Europe.
IMO can't go wrong with the brand that created the MP40 and STG44.
>>
How is Windham weaponry as an entry level AR?
>>
>>34415503
Which country? Yankshit is readily available here, expensive though it is.

I bought my DDM4V11 from there.

Nigger you fucked up real time ruger actually isn't bad.
>>
>>34408221
Add polymer lowers to shit tier.
>>
>>34416626
Does that mean no 5.56 or?

You could order from inside the EU without issues.
>>
>>34416673
>>34416626

Random anon here, I actually have no idea about French gun laws, I'm surprised you can have ARs, what are the restrictions?
>>
>>34416780
I heard France had some sort of a military calibre ban in effect, which is why I asked if he could have 5.56. All EU nations can import from within the Union without tariffs, which is why I linked him a Finnish site that stocks yankshit.

I imagine it would be cheaper to order from Poland, Czechia or Germany or something though.
>>
>>34416780
All semi-autos of any caliber are legal atm (the new EU law might really F everything up). It's just a lot of paperwork and time (at the very least 8 months) before you can have one.
Everything thqt isn't semi-auto or auto is really easy to get (like a shotgun or a bolt-action).
Also there is -ATM- no restrictions on lenghts or supressors.
>>
>>34408221
literally all forged lowers are the same
>>
>>34414695
zip ties and a 2 beer koozies, tactical beer storage when suppressed, suppressor storage when in storage.
>>
>>34416649
Yeah dumbass thats why its mid tier. Are you trying to say ruger is up there with bcm and kac? Then shut the fuck up dumbass.
>>
>>34417588
>defend yourself

really no point desu.
