Yeah, so they say. I've honestly never seen a difference between .223 and 5.56 in my 5.56 upper. And the cost difference between the two rounds is negligible anymore. Seems to me that Wylde chambered uppers/weapons always went for a premium when compared to straight .223 or 5.56

Do some independent research on the dimensions of the chamber and the cartridge for both .223 and 5.56. You'll see why Wylde is a sham. This shit ain't Cinnamon Toast Crunch, it's easy to see. The projectile enters the chamber the same in each, but the shoulder angle of the casing is slightly different. The 5.56 is also loaded to a much higher pressure specification. The two rounds aren't interchangeable, but you can shoot .223 safely and accurately from a 5.56 barrel

From what I have heard, the Wylde has the chamber sizing of .223 and is rated for the higher pressures of 5.56. Unless you are a bench rest comeptition handload shooter, you will not see a difference. Twist rate, rifling type and barrel quality are more important in determining base accuracy.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wylde barrels were actually just 5.56 barrels with ".223 Wylde" stamped into them and a higher price tag attached
