Can we get a Korean War thread going?
Pics and stories! No judgements.
I didn't know the IDF was in Korea...
My grandfather worked on tanks in Korea and he once told me this story he heard when he was there. Obviously take it with a sizable grain of salt.
There was a lineman who was working up on a telephone pole. He was using those leather straps that you would wrap around you and the pole so your hands were free when you lean back. He was at the top when a Korean kid probably 15 or 16 came out of the tree line with a Ppsh 41 or a burp gun as my grandfather called it.
The kid raised the burp gun and the lineman did the only thing he could do, swing around, put the telephone pole between them and try to get as thin as possible. The kid dumped the whole drum in one burst and ran off back into the trees. Miraculously the lineman wasn't hit, only covered in splinters.
"Ian Robertson talks of his battalion rescuing a regiment of American paratroopers, who were under siege, almost out of ammunition and getting ready to die when the Australians arrived."
"When the Yanks saw our big hats they let out a cheer because they thought we were Texans!" he grins. "We sailed into the enemy so hard they withdrew. The American commander was so grateful that when he went home he fenced off part of his ranch, and put up a sign and an Australian flag."

I believe it. Papa Shas are inaccurate when mag dumping like all sub machine guns.

you what
Sadly I don't have any good Korean war story. My family has great stories from WW2 and Vietnam but the only family member who served during Korea was a US army truck driver stationed in Japan. The literal definition of being in the rear with the gear.

He's referring to pic related. The IDF has a bit of a history of fucking up with their armor.

That's believable.
How come the Korean war seems to get so little attention compared to WW2 and Vietnam?

Can't be referenced to support some snowflake's agenda.

the only Jews involved where Chinese

Perfectly plausible - the 7.62 Tok can't go thru more than 15cm of wood, a pole will be definitely thicker than that.

No peace treaty was ever signed, the war literally isn't over

So does that mean the Donald doesn't have to declare he can just attack?

My grandfather was a mortar observer at Chosin, called in fire on himself one time. He was Italian born and raised so his main memory of Korea was waking up every morning in 1950 convinced that this was the coldest day in human history, only for it to get colder the next day. For the rest of his life dude would go out into a Pennsylvania blizzard half naked to do chores because it could be worse.

The gatehouse in the Funchilin Pass with partially blown bridge from a different view.
it was an ARMY bridging unit that installed the treadway bridge across this void.
so many marines crow about bringing most of their vehicles out of chosin, but the ride would have ended right here otherwise.
