Give reasons, pros, cons, etc.

anything other than a striker fired for self defense is larping

>>
>>34403565
because they understand modern defense shooting philosophy and know that no matter how fast you are with a sig, a glock will beat it every time?

>>34403584
charmed, im sure
>>
>>34403596
Because you claim opinion as fact. Im leaving this thread now and suggest OP does the same as you've already begun the process of ruining it.
>>
>>34403511

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO WITH IT?

The sig is too heavy to be a real competitive carry gun. the glock has after market parts galore. If you sank the money a new p226 would cost into a glock you would come away with something nice. I would take my sig over a glock any day but im bias. guns are a tool and the tool has to serve the function. If you want to defend life and liberty there is one option, and if you want to build a gucci youtuber gun there is another.

P226 is thicc
glock has weird grip angle that requires unnatural compensation
beretta m9 is too spindly

>more comfy but harder to find
browning high power
Colt Model 1903
sig p210
>>
>>34403511
>Sig
Heavier weight makes for softer shooting
Better ergos imo
DA/SA with safety and decocker
More expensive

>Glock
Weight and size is better for carry
Better aftermarket
Striker fired
Cheaper

Between the two I'd take the Sig because I hate how Glocks feel in the hand, but that's just personal preference.
>>
>>34403753
Oh wow a reasonable analysis, thanks
>>
>>34403746
Do you have a fedora to match each one of these?
>>
>>34403511
Sig for range and HD. Glock if you plan on carrying it. I love a good metal DA/SA gun but nothing is better for carry than a polymer wonder 9.
>>
>>34403753
I'd agree with that, the 226's I've owned and one I've still got somewhere (wife has dibs on that) are really nice shooting, quality little guns with a decent trigger.
Whereas the Glocks always sort of felt a bit 'cheap' and a bit snappy, not that you'd really go wrong with one.
>>
>>34403753
>Sig: heavier weight makes for softer shooting
Confirmed for not having shot both. The towering bore axis in the Sig makes the Glock have less muzzle flip.
>>

Sig triggers are much nicer than Glocks. The triggers are incomparable really. Glock triggers are about as mushy and indistinct as you can get unless you're considering striker fired Kahrs too.

Sig triggers, even the new P320 triggers, have nice distinct walls and crisp breaks, often with absolutely tiny reset (SRT) and very little takeup. I personally find stock P320 and P226 triggers a bit on the heavy side.

There are tons of other aspects of the two pistols to compare however. Weight. Striker vs Hammer, parts availability, etc.
>>
>>34403946

>confirmed for barfing up "muh axis" internet memes.

I guarantee you're not good enough to notice the difference. Only top level comp shooters care about the miniscule bore axis meme. The SIG is more than accurate enough to do the job it's made for, which is shooting people, not paper.
>>
Frankly if you can stand the striker fired trigger and blockgonomics then Glock wins every time. I'm sure someone will (or already has, I'm not reading the thread) tell you that you can never ever learn to shoot well with either trigger, that the SIG has impossibly high bore axis, and that Glocks were made for robot hands. It's all bullshit. Yes both triggers have drawbacks, the SIG has high bore axis, and Glocks are rather square, but it's 99% personal preference. The Glock is only better in a vacuum. The real world has a lot of variables, and most of the important ones here involve the physiological structure of your masturbators. So go shoot some guns.
>>
>>34403946
>bore axis meme
>>
>>34404009
Full damage control.
I dont care if you believe me, but I do notice the difference.
I agree the Sig is good enough for shooting people, but so is a P-38. It's just that Glocks are better. Only way Sig has Glock beat is bullseye shooting.

This just came in today. How'd I do?
>>
>>34403511
I would probably go with the sig sauer if I could choose but my pros with the glock are that I am already familiar with it.
>>
>>34404065
At this point I'd pay more for a 226 that didn't have the anchor. That's some real cringe right there, otherwise good stuff.
>>
>>34404079
What's so bad about the Mk25? Genuinely curious.
>>
>>34404094
Just the anchor. Yeah, the SEALs used to use it, that's great and everything but it's kind of like buying an Oldsmobile because Tom Brady did that commercial for them. That doesn't make it a better gun for me. Once you're talking about reliable accurate firearms one isn't necessarily better than the other, it's all about the user. Basically I could just do without the implied SEAL endorsement as it only adds anything for mall ninjas.
>>
>>34404191
Fair enough.

Sig 226
Pros
Very well made, high quality
Smooth double action trigger right out of the box
Decent ergonomics
Good reliability

Cons
Expensive

Glock
Pros
Not expensive
Easy to use
Reliable
10,000 versions so you can buy it in whatever special snowflake caliber and configuration you want

Cons
Some don't like the trigger or ergonomics
Plastic frame, feels cheap in hand
Shooting a glock feels about as exciting as driving a Honda Civic

>>
is there any benefit to using a striker fired gun? less moving parts? what is it? new here
>>
>>34405157
Lower profile, no hammer to get hung up when you draw a consistent trigger pull. Its all personal preference. You can spend 3 grand on a pistol and there will always be someone who can out shoot you with a hi point. I would say your best bet is find a range that rents and try out everything you can and find what you like.

Glock. I've had 5 Sigs and the only one that hasn't been overrated was the P220.

Glock wins out in trigger consistency, and I'm not even just talking about the switch from DA to SA. The Glock wins out in weight, size, capacity, and magazine options even if you don't want to add any aftermarket crap.

Sigs are fun, but I'm pretty much over them. The only Sig I'd ever buy again would be another P220.

I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Besides if you're only worried about needing it at a convenient store or pawn shop... I suppose that says a lot about you.

But you know, I suppose when I pretty much said that my favorite Sig was the P220 that you'd pick up on the fact that I'm not just a capacity whore.

LEO's are now full on Mil Spec and shit now, anon
It was suicidal for them then, with high casualty count
It is more suicidal for you now, with predictably low casualty count

I agree anon
I carry a backup gun for added security, not a mechanical means to an end (striker vs hammer)
