For strictly home defense, a standard 75 is great.
For any kind of carrying, get a PCR or P-01
For more effective home defense with slightly less nostalgic aesthetic, SP-01

I like decockers personally, but safeties are good and proven. Train with whatever you buy.

Cz75 is a great first gun. Pick one you like, but id go with a decocking model.

SP-01 has a better trigger, but the Tactical's de-cocker is nice. There is no wrong answer.

For OP's first gun I'd go with one of their aluminum or polymer models though, steel is heavy as fuck. The steel frame guns just aren't as versatile, they're better as a second or third gun.

If you want something a bit smaller, get one of the Compact frames. I also recommend a decocker version. If you are left-handed by any chance then the 85 is worth looking at.

They are fairly common in a variety of used conditions so it's possible to get a good one off an auction site.

Got a CZ75 SA and it's my favorite pistol right now. It's amazingly accurate and it's just fun to shoot.

It's 9mm recoil should be almost non existent unless it's a subcompact polymer. Even then my mp shield has even less recoil then my Glock 19 and dat barely has anything espicaly in +p

It's supposedly more durable, I don't know about that though. I do know the P-series guns(Omega) along with the 97 use a different lockup that doesn't batter the slide stop like the traditional CZs, so there is that to consider if you shoot a lot and are considering a CZ

It was my first gun. But i wasn't a new shooter. And OP didn't say he was either.
Its a great shooting piece; much more manageable than the shields and lcps that i see 90% of normies getting for first guns. Ive had virgin shooters tell me they enjoyed my rami over a my buddies shield, lcp2, and PCR after a range trip. I guess it comes down to OPs preference and experience really.

Wish i wasnt so ".45 OR DIE!!!! 1911 OR BUST!!!" in my younger years. Dont get me wrong i still love my 1911 but once i found CZ i wont go back. Maybe buy a Dan Wesson.

Seriously though. Even basic 75s are good.

I don't want to question your masculinity, but if you have problem shooting 9mm out of full size polymer guns there is something wrong.

Consider an EAA Tanfoglio Witness.
The basic full size steel 9mm is about $300 right now, and I humbly believe that Tanfoglio's design is an improvement on the CZ75, namely in terms of having a forged two-piece slide stop (which is a weak point in the CZ-75), and a superior firing pin block which doesn't impact the trigger pull as much as CZ's design. From the box, I find Tanfoglios usually have better trigger pulls than CZs.
Only catch: Tanfoglio doesn't make any aluminum frame guns, and their poly frames aren't particularly impressive.

Let me add as well, that the majority of CZ clones on the market are actually derived from Tanfoglio's design, which evolved from their clone of the CZ-75 Pre-B (hence the differences in the firing pin block)
This includes everything from the $$$ Kriss Sphinx, to the Weeaboo-beloved Space Cowboy Jericho (Actually a FAB92, Tanfo's slide-safety Witness), Armalite's AR-24, and a whole glut of Turkroach and Flip clones by Tristar, Canik, Armscor, etc.

I used to have a CZ-97, but sold it off after discovering I much preferred the .45 Jericho/Baby Eagle. The CZ-97's grip is too thick and uncomfortable.
Unlike the small-frame Tanfo and Jericho, which are identical aside from the slanted front end, the large-frame and .45 Jericho actually have a different profile to the grip.
Basically, CZ-97 has a large, thick grip, Tanfo large frame has a medium grip, and the Jericho is about as thin a grip as you can get in a double stack .45 - it's barely larger than a CZ75.

Had a Witness in 10mm, the front slide frame sheared off. Apparently they use the same size slide frames across the board caliber wise, and the 10mm pressures were way too much. The customer support from EAA was a pain in the ass and would have cost me a quarter of the price to replace a $30 part so I just got the part and went to a local gunsmith. Consider the engineering oversight and the warrantee. I sold it for a P-01 and couldn't be happier for my first carry gun.

I really love my cz 75 b.

I got the stainless steel edition cause i just love it. Honestly it is carry and concealable... but you have to have a good holster, the right size pant and belt. And here is the worst part. To actually conceal it. you need like a button up shirt. or a loose jacket,

I mean i trust mine with my life, i broke it in, it is accurate and im good with it. My dad hhas a sig p290, much more concealable. But i suck with it.
