I grew up in fairly city like areas (Raleigh, Indianapolis, Grand Rapids) in what many would call flyover states. I always thought of myself as center with some left leaning ideas. Basically if someone isn't hurting anyone else, or stepping on your rights, leave them the fuck alone. Then you grow the fuck up, and for years you start seeing this treehouse mentality of the left, where if you aren't radical ENOUGH, then you don't belong in the club and are the enemy. Imagine if I, a person without even a drivers license, started talking about assault cars, and how there's no point in making cars that go faster than 100km/h, since thats the max speed limit, and you dont really need more than that. Also spoilers and flashy style flame and other paintjobs should not be allowed, as they make the car go faster and give it a racer/gang look, which is not needed for a civilian. Further more seats in cars should not have backs, since the leaned back relaxed sitting makes it easier for drivers to hit max speed. We should also limit how much fuel the car can take, so it will be forced to do regular stops and in case someone tries to outrun the police, obviously for a civilian car owner thats not looking for trouble, this should be no problem since there are gas stations everywhere.

That's how anti gunners sound to gun owners.

I was firmly anti-guns (as is everyone around me) but then I went to a shooting club a few times because I was interested in shooting, went to /k/, and slowly got corrupted into thinking guns shouldnt be controlled. But you cant change that by discussing, people will just disengage if they feel threatened in their opinions and then sit in the echo chamber until they feel comfortable again.
