Shot sporting clays for the first time and fucking loved it.
Is a shitty Stoeger O/U from Bass Pro Shops gonna cut it going out a couple times a year?
Stoegers arent ever really shit so...
Sure.
If you have a few extra bucks check out the Savage Stevens 555.

If it's at Bass Pro it's probably overpriced as hell. Stoegers are fine. I'd probably go looking for a Tristar instead. The Winchesters and Stoegers are Turkish too. The Stevens is Chinese. If you can find a used Weatherby Orion it will be worth it. Their budget models are also imported Turkish products but the Tristar and Weatherby's are from one of the more reputable companies like Huglu.
Stoegers are poor man's Benelli. But still near Benelli in quality.

Go for it. OUs are just good for almost any clay shooting for fun, unless you want to get serious then you'll want a dedicated trap/sporting/skeet gun that is optimized for the clay flight patterns of every discipline, but we are talking fat money now.
Just check if that stoeger has interchangeable chokes, those are a HUGE plus in clay shooting because allow you to tailor the gun somewhat more for the clay discipline

Stevens is Turkish
All of stoegers o/u or sxs shotguns are made in Brazil by ER Amintino. Quality wise they are closer to Taurus or Rossi than anything actually built by benelli. They are stout, serviceable guns. Stoeger semi autos are Turkish made under patents held by benelli.
I would look into the entry-level ones distributed by CZ. Supposedly they are made in some village in Turkey that has a long history of making and shooting shotguns.
I would suggest of all guns not to cheap out on any form of break-action double barrel if you plan on enjoying the gun.
I shoot a Beretta SP I and it's lovely, and not that expensive. Had a Turkish O/U from Revo and yes it shot straight, but the parts weren't very tightly fit and once had to disassemble it as the ejectors jammed open.
