is $400 for a military grade 1 MOA red dot with mount for the AK too good to be true?

You can get the PK01-VS on Fleabay straight from Belarus for $300, which Kalinka normally sells for $500.

I have a POSP scope I bought back in 2013 that I use on my Tigr. Pretty good scope. Holds zero and has badass reticle.
>>34393408
I was thinking about the PK-A Venezuela, but I honestly don't see the difference really.
Does anyone know if they make a scope that mounts on a standard picatinny rail and has SVD rangefinder reticle with a 1000m range?
I ordered a POSP from Kalinka for my Vepr - and I ordered the AK style instead of the SVD style mount - big mistake. Because it only makes partial contact with the little metal bearing that holds the optic in place, the mount literally seared itself smooth after 400 rounds or so, and the optic fell off.
Also the stock screws are absolute shit (some sort of alloy) and will strip apart with minimal use.
So don't count on the mount or the screws that hold the scope to the mount.
That being said, if you want Russian military optics that aren't replica airshit, they're your best option.

I just got the vepr in 7.62x39. So should I get the SVD or avoid it all together?
>>34393477
The PK-A Venezuela is made of steel, the PK-01VS is made of alloy.
The 01VS doesn't have the sexy hammered paint finish, but considering it's better for less money...

Only if you want one 8x or larger amything 6x or lower can use an svd mount.

>is $400 for a military grade 1 MOA red dot with mount for the AK too good to be true?
No, not really
However! A 1 moa AK, definitely.

The SVD mount is more sturdy on the VEPR than the AK mount, but it also sits lower and can only be used with smaller scopes. The 4x fits perfectly on my 54r vepr.

4x or smaller, go SVD. Anything 6x or bigger needs to be the AK mount.
I made the mistake of trying to get a 6x SVD mount POSP to fit on my 54r. The clearance between the main lense housing and the irons was too tight by only a few millimetres. Luckily the screw in AK mount replacement was cheap.
But yeah, those screws suck ass.

I'm assuming anon isn't american and thinks that selling stolen military tech is a felony.
>>34395574
It is a felony to import more than $100 of military equipment (including scopes) without a license from the state department
russian optics aren't worth the markup you pay, especially not the red dots. only reason to get them is cause they have neato reticles
>>34396072
that sounds like a BS law that only gets enforced if you're doing something very naughty
>>34396306
Shit guess I can't import that container load of stolen spec op gear! Cartel offered me a good price and all
>>34393479
Wolf PSU is closest I can think of, but it only goes to 800 and zeroed for 62gr 5.56
It's an Elcan knockoff made with german glass
>>34393479
Kalinka has regular scopes that have the dragunov reticle, also weaver/picatiny base posps
>>34396072
where the fuck does it say that in US law? because that doesnt sound like ITAR
