Hey /k/. My dad passed away two weeks ago tomorrow. I was going through his belongings and found out he owned guns which he never told me about. My Mom says he liked to shoot back in the 70s, and I thought about going to the range to shoot the guns once I learn proper safety techniques, etc.
I'm not sure if they are any good, rare, whatever. But from what I gathered I got:
-Smith & Wesson Model 59
-Colt 1911 Model 70
-Walther Sportmodell IV (this one I had the hardest time researching. It's a bolt action and the safety is behind the bolt and it's circular. What's why I'm saying it's a IV. I can be very wrong).
-Marlin Glenfield Model 60
I'll post some pics. I'm sure some of these are lame compared to some other guns.
If you wanna post your guns that's cool too I guess. Also is it common to make your own bullets? He had smokeless gun powder and tons of casings.
Finally the Colt.

Het the reloading kit he has stashed somewhere. It costs a lot to get started but you end up saving lots of money.
Plus he should have dies for at least one rifle.

Yeah I found the dies and reloading kit. I even got a sweet 70's looking book on reloading too.

Hey OP those are cool and all but not worth much.
I'll give you $100 each for the pistols, $75 for the nazi gun, and $50 for the .22 thanks.

sorry about your lose anon. That being said, I dont think any are particularly rare but they aren't horrible guns. I have a marlin 60 i shoot alot.
DON'T SELL ANY OF THOSE GUNS or turn them in to the cops. Those guns are to be stored, taken care of, and shot SAFELY AND PROPERLY and passed on to the next generation

Looks like that walther is missing a barrel band. Might not effect anything but its a logical place for a sling point.

Shoot them, keep them, and love them anon. You got some fun guns there that should bring you and your kids years of fun. Keep your dad's memory alive
As these other anons have said, preserve these as family heirlooms and teach your kids to use and respect them one day.
Condolences on your loss.

That high polish is crazy. Probably hurts the value as s&w never did them that way (as far as I know) but someone put a lot of work into that finish. Neato piece.
