Very soft shooters actually. Generally speaking the desert eagle in general is a soft shooting pistol due to its overall weight. The thing weighs like 5lbs unloaded. The main thing you run into as others have said is that it's loud as fuck, particularly if you have it configured like the OP with the muzzle brake.

It's also very picky ammowise, particularly with the .44. That cartridge was originally a revolver round so it only likes to eat very very hot rounds in order to cycle properly.

That said, it is very fun to shoot and is guaranteed to be a conversation starter at the range.
