DD just makes great barrels is all. Ballistic Advantage also makes a great barrel for the money (sub-MOA guarantee) and I've talked to them about gas ports...they've done testing, and size them to run most types of ammo and cycle correctly using a standard carbine buffer (as opposed to H2 or H3 for the DD which will eat anything and be very over gassed)

Don't get matech unless cloning. There is a metal tab milled onto the house that keeps the peep arm down. When it wears out, the whole sight is completely toast.

Not sure what you mean by "rumblings" it's common knowledge that commercial DD10.3 barrels have an xboxhueg gas port. I use an H2 buffer with mine and probably could go to H3, but plan to change out all my buffer springs with sprincos first and see where I'm at.

I have no idea what DD does with their 11.5, but you still have lower dwell times, I would expect their commercial barrels would still have ports on the large size. Email them.

Adco will ream your gas port if you buy them drinks first. Don't be giddy and do it yourself.

so it looks like the can is the problem but it's not just on the 10.3 so it's not the muzzle device.

there are also no new marks on the baffles so maybe it's air turbulance cause by the previous baffle strike that's causing the issue.

not sure but i'm not sending the can in, 5 months is way too long

I'd highly recommend the larue qd aimpoint mount, or the American defense manufacturing one. Their both a little hefty, but speaking from personal experience, optics stick out, and get smacked around alot. Your mount has to be built to hold up.

gonna buy an alignment rod to be sure the can is straight and if the 62gr cbc shoots well, i'll start buying that in bulk.

the weird thing is that this is a new issue, when i had the baffle strike the rifles still shot fine with the can on so maybe there's just some carbon build up and the bullets hit that every now and then.

It's never malfunctioned through 2k rounds but it's not exactly "properly" gassed with regards to carrier speed and ejection pattern

i can and do, i have ~3k rounds through 2 rifles since my last strike and haven't had one since.

i suspect it was with imi ammo but i was shooting geco and imi that day so not 100% sure.
