Seriously, what kind of moron would buy a USP? Heavy, garbage economics, less accurate than guns half its price, feels cheap, larger than every other duty pistol with the same capacity. I've been shooting for years and USPs are the most overrated pieces of trash I've ever touched.

They were cool once, but now they're just owned by literal retards. I know some USP guys are gonna come in here trying to defend them. Don't bother, you're insecure about your purchase. Sell the thing to another moron and use the remaining cash to buy something worth owning.

This goes double for the people that own a 9mm USP without a threaded barrel. You could not get more stupid.

I can only assume you were trying to say "ergonomics," and that because you think the USP's ergos are garbage, you must own a Glock.
>>
>>34381879
So what's your point? People like what they like. Do you have a better suggestion or are you just here to prove that you are the greatest Autist your side of the Mississippi?
>>
they were real hot back in the early-2000s. never really been into them, but my brother owns one and it shot well from what I remember. I agree that you could probably choose a more economical purchase, but I dont think they're bad guns (much better than the hk45s)

USPs are bought by either hipsters or poorfags who are trying to convince others that they aren't poorfags.

The same people who call the USP "heavy" are the same idiots who go and buy a CZ 75 SP-01, which is far heavier than even the biggest USP. Go be poor somewhere else.

I wanted to love my USP, but the fucking thing kept nailing me in the face with hot brass.

When one casing shot itself straight into a gap in my shooting glasses, wedged in and seared the skin under my eye, I determined that it seriously wanted me dead. Selling it ASAP.

>>34383608
How much?

Is the USP better than the P30 though? What's about the VP9?
>>
>>34381879
Honest question, should I get a USP in .40, or a USP in .45?

What is this, a poorfag thread? I just ordered a LRB M14 to drop in a Sage EBR chassis.

SP2022 in 40
Older stainless (not the elite garbage) P220 in 45.

These are the correct answers.

I owned a west German frame P220 Stainless and a USP .45 as my first and second guns respectively.
Get the USP .45.

USP compact .40 and USP .45
>>
I'm thinking about getting one eventually since I'm a south paw desu, but it's not on my to buy list and wont be until I own everything else I've had my eye on. I'm aching for a couple of CZ 75s and a 3 inch revolver first.

>>34383608
kek same thing happened to me a while back although it was with a Glock 17. I'm thinking of selling it but that Roni conversion kit looks like fun too.

>can't help but want a bunch of USPs

I triggers my 'tism to have effectively multiple of the same gun but at the same time I just want a bunch of different USPs. Maybe a 45T and a Mark 23, a 40c, and a 9 Expert or, by some miracle, Match.

I know the feeling. Decided I'm getting the USP 9, USP 45 and the compact .40.
Also the HK45ct is objectively the best Tactical model HK

>>34382089
if I remember right, it involves a hit or miss aftermarket barrel that has softer steel.

it's not even that expensive if you go 2nd hand market. USP .40's are hilariously cheap since everyone is dropping .40 cal handguns by the truckload due to FBI's move back to 9mm.

I got my USP45 compact for $650 and I lucked out because mine was a demo gun that hardly been shot. USP's in general are tanks and unless someone shot the shit out of their gun or stored it in the ocean, they will still outlast whoever buys it. Not to mention fullsize USP's are cheaper on the used market.

Well, the USP isn't a modern gun. It's almost 20 years old.

When it came out it was lighter and hand better ergonomics than the Beretta M92F or the Smith & Wesson 5904/5906/915. Also, it was designed from the start as a .40 and .45 gun, not as a 9x19mm gun - there was even less competition in this segment. The only real competitor it had at that time was the Glock which didn't feature a manual safety, which some people absolutely wanted, and didn't have a rail. SIG was another competitor which was in the same price range, didn't have better ergonomics, and at that time, was heavier due to metal frames. Also, still no rail.

Finally, people complain that the USP's proprietary rail suck. In the 90s it was simple - you either had a proprietary rail (H&K USP, Walther P99) or no rail at all.

How effective is this gun at sub 6 inches? If I put it to my head, will it put me out of my misery?

Asking for a friend.
>>
>>34385819
No most hand guns need a few feet for the bullit to finish speeding up, the gyrojet is the worst one because it needs a few yards tho.
