$600 for an extremely default rifle. Why?
>>
>>34379906
Wanted to build my own and take a little pride in my rifle. Basically OP is a faggot.
>>
>>34379944
In the process of building my own one at the moment. $300 dollar preferred max budget. I can stretch to $400 but no more. As for pride... Well I don't know man having a gun would be enough for me.
>>
>>34379961
What the hell do you plan on getting for $300? The cheapest I can see is if you get a $300 rifle kit from PSA and buy one of their $50 lowers.
>>
>>34379980
You underestimate how much of a jew I can be.
>>
>>34379980
Sad thing is that I also have to get a HBAR because MD.
>>
>>34380010
My condolences. I love living in AZ and going to the LGS next to Wal-Mart and seeing silencers and 100 round drum mags for sale. I can't imagine what it would be like to live in a cucked state.
>>
>>34379904
I still don't understand this. What's wrong with carbine gas length?
>>
>>34380058
Possibly just an aesthetic thing for anon. Maybe not. Iunno.
>>
>>34380006
Intriguing.
>>
>>34380058
mid-length gas has less felt recoil
>>
>>34381208
Alright, so what? I'm not a pussy, my shoulder can handle the recoil of a 5.56.
>>
>>34381681
Calm down turbo, no one cares how bug and strong your totally not underaged manly man shoulders are. Literally everybody and their dead grandmother can handle a carbine gassed AR.

Most complaints from carbine gas comes from the increased parts wear. Aside from that people like follow up shots as quickly as possible, which is easier with a softer felt recoil.

That minimalist stock blows HARD for anything other than larping at the range. Get caught on gear/trees/anything you can hook onto while outdoors or doing anything remotely physical with it. Tie some paracord to close it off, I ditched mine completely cuz i got so fed up.

Ill give you a 7/10, if you have an adjustable gas block you get a 9/10.

Didn't feel like fucking around with the gas block, don't have the tools to do it properly.
>>
>>34383403
Yeah, the recoil thing is actually kind of overstated, but it does tend to wear out the bcg a little faster, especially with the lighter weight semi-auto bolt carriers a lot of entry-level rifles come with.
>>
>>34385050
other thing is that if you're using an A2 FSB, you can't mount the bayonet properly using a carbine gas on a 16" barrel

Nobody cares about your generic tacticool rifle. Anyone can build one. Congrats for doing something any retard with an internet connection can do.

>>
>>34384947
Just get a set screw block. You just have to make sure the tube goes in the hole in the gas block and the other hole in the receiver. If you buy a decent barrel, the block should ride the shoulder and give you a perfect seal.

Its fucking hell. Not the guy you were talking to, but I worked in a gun store from 16-19 and sold all sorts of fun guns, then they passed the new law in 2013 and I'm 21 now and want a handgun but
>HQL costs $120.
So I settled for silencer paperwork and a shitload of cool .22 rifles. Gonna get a nice long range rifle later
>>
>>34389315
Jesus Christ, you guys need a license to buy handguns? The air seems so foreign to me. Hell, I'm 18 and just had my dad purchase the handgun for me, but I'm allowed to open carry at least. I think I'll stay in AZ.

.22s are nice. When I bought mine I was just going for a meme gun basically. Pic related. Accurate and fun though.
>>
>>34389392
I intend to collect .22's while in MD because they are great for everything, plus my family owns a sig sauer .22 pistol with a threaded bbl, so I can swap my can around. I only really get to shoot on the farm anyway, so silence is a necessity. Plus i'm not hittin hogs past 50-100 yds so distance isn't a factor.
>>
>>34389402
.22 is probably almost as useful as 12 gauge. Plus the ammo is dirt cheap so you can practice or just fuck around without paying out the nose for ammo.
>>
>>34386591
did mommy drop your tendies today anon
>>
>>34389425
Yeah I got a 12ga I reparked and repaired that I bought for $1 from a family member years ago. It's cut down to the legal limit, It's really just for shooting intruders and pumpkin chunkin at the holidays.

I have 'enough' guns according to the state, but I just love the mechanisms, the complexity, the way they work and It's so hard to find people in MD that understand that. I have a small group that I hangout with, but most of the time I talk guns and everyone I know thinks bans and strict background checks are great ideas that work flawlessly.
>>
>>34389456
Yeah, I love talking apart guns and figuring out how they work. Besides, everyone should know how to fully strip down their guns, makes repairs way cheaper if you know exactly what needs fixing.
>>
>>34389487

>>34379759
No, I can smell the poor. The most egregious offense is your shitty barrel
Your lesser offenses include the stock choice and your rail not matching up. Other than that I won't shit on it

pls post your ar and allow us to bask in your holiness, m'lord. we are not worthy of such opinions
>>
>>34389508
I personally like the stock, however, you are right about the barrel. I only spent $280 on the upper so it's far from the highest quality.
>>
>>34389538
>I only spent $280 on the upper
Straight from the owner himself
Also it's gonna sound lame as fuck, but I only have my handguns with me. Graduated Bolc and moved to Fayetteville. Considering the amount of amount of home invasions in the area the last thing I want stolen from me is my collection.
>>34389547
I'm actually interested in what trigger you got in it.

Here you go. It's the trigger that comes with the Sionics deluxe LPK. Probably nothing great, but still feels better than plain old mil spec.

Never really been a fan of the minimalist stock, but other than that it is pretty nice.
How good does the aero lower perform? I was thinking about getting one.
>>
>>34390042
I've been very happy with the lower so far. The mag release sometimes gets caught on the left side of the receiver, but besides that it's performed without issue.

Weird, you try applying a bit of grease to it? If so maybe you can take it out and attempt to file the part a bit.

>>
>>34379944
Take a little pride in pinning an upper to a lower? You didn't build anything. You didn't do anything more than a 6 year old does at build-a-bear.
Stick to Legos kid.
>>
>>34390058
Push the button in as far as you can, grab the mag release and spin it clockwise once. Does it still 'catch' on the receiver? Spin it clockwise again.

Need to turn it again but your bolt catch is in the way? When you push the mag release out, instead of spinning it grab it and pull it further. Then spin it clockwise.
>>
>>34391751
>>34392241
It's already screwed as much as it can be without the screw poking out an uncomfortable distance from the button. Should I take a file and give that edge an angle?
>>
>>34379759

>couldn't find matching colored gear.

Do you have down syndrome or something?
>>
>>34392734
take the mag catch out and give the receiver a few passes with the finest file you have.
>>
>>34392754
What do you mean? Everything is black or FDE.
>>
>>34392820
I was think of talking the file to the mag catch, not the receiver.
>>
>>34392865
it's more likely that the reciever is a few thou out of tolerance. the mag catch is just a straight bar. also, aluminum is softer than steel.
>>
>>34392903
The problem is that the mag catch pushes just a little bit too far outside the receiver, so what I was thinking of doing is putting a slant on the mag catch so when it makes contact with the receiver in the way back in, it slides down and in normally, rather than acting like a shelf, potentially catching on the receiver.
>>
>>34391842
Ok then show us your pinnacle of AR-15 builds put together with your own two hands. I'll wait for you to snag an image off google faggot.
>>
>>34393086
If you must file something just file the mag catch, if you fuck it up you are only out $5 instead of what a new lower receiver would cost you.
