That design isn't unproven, as most of its subsystems are already tested on the 052D.

Hull design is a hybrid of 052D and their 12k ton coast guard cutter that has been in operation for several years.

The 155mm guns on a Zumwalt are not its only antiship weaponry.

You have to go out of your way to engineer a scenario where a Zumwalt would not have a large advantage in detection.

No wonder they kept such a tight lid on this during construction. The amount of sensors on this thing is close to mind bogging.

Not only carrying 4 X S BAND Type 346 APAR as expected, the ship also carries 4 X X BAND APAR in the top of the intergrated mast, as well as the total surprise:
4-8 Panels of L band APAR on the superstructure, rear mast and hanger sides.

Basically carrying a full suit of AMDR and a small set of LRDR on one ship.

Quick and dirty job to show where they are located.
