Why do bullpups have a reputation for having shitty triggers? Surely it should be possible for them to have a nice trigger since their trigger systems are like a single action pistol in a roundabout way?
The trigger linking bar.
Most bullpups these days have sorted it out though.

The AUG, FS2000, and PS90 have that reputation because they were designed to be select fire and allow you to stage the trigger for semi automatic or fully automatic fire. Without that capability their trigger is just long and creepy.
Because the trigger is six inches or more away from the sear.

Forgive me if I'm being a dingus, but how come does the length/existence of the trigger bar affect it? Pistols also have linking bars but can have nice triggers if they're machined & designed well.

Go use a bullpup OP, trigger problems are overblown by asshats who never use anything but competition triggers in thier ARs
The bullpups have a rep for bad triggers because any GI rifle is going to have mediocre trigger movement because it's a GI rifle.
What's hard is improving the trigger, which isn't even hard anymore because of the aftermarket for some bullpups like the Aug, tavor, etc.
Ps90 actually has a decent trigger, and any of them have a trigger better than most run of the mill garbage on market.

Aha, I suspected that as well.

So, it is possible to make a bullpup with a good trigger. However, >>34369216 is spot on. The p90, I've shot and it was maybe the worst trigger ever.
Now, if you have the trigger pull on something design it properly it's not that bad. A lot of them actually push though. I don't see anyway that could be good.
>shit bullup triggers are a thing of the past
just got these things in the store
the triggers is like 4cm of pull and the shittiest trigger I have ever witnessed
>>34369829
Well, yeah. Everything about those is shitty.

>Now, if you have the trigger pull on something design it properly it's not that bad.
Realizing how poorly I worded this, I would like to retry.
Some triggers push on a connecting bar.
Some triggers pull on a connecting bar.
>pic related, this hk pulls on a bar.
I don't see why you couldn't make a good trigger for a bull pup with the "pull" action. However, many of them seem to rely on a pushing action. Considering the lengths we are talking about, I don't see how that could ever be any good.

I'd rather have this instead.
>will probably never be available in Canada.. sad Canuck.
