Does /k/ know how to take a punch?
>>34367472
Eyup, I don't claim to be a master in hand to hand but I've been in more than a couple fights.
>>34367480
got a tough jaw there mister?
>Collar tie
>Overhook
>Wrap legs around him
>Whisper no homo brah
>>34367472
Tuck my chin, keep my arms up and don't get hit in the jaw to avoid getting knocked out?
>>34367480
Trying to fight off those muslims men at your mosque trying to get your tender butthole probably gave you practice taking a few donkey punches
>>34367472
That was hilarious to watch.
Just goes to show good punches are better than more punches
>also why the fuck does no one kick in street fights, except perhaps rarely
>>34367472
2 autistic weebs slapping each other.
The guy in the grey vest was all for show, the other was obv. attacked.
Grey vest faggot was doing it for show. Thank fuck he went down
>>34367472
Don't know. Never been punched.
>>34367472
How did the grey shirt managed to not connect with basically every thing he did, he failed every knee he threw and all of his punches were god awful holy fuck.
>>34367472
i've been in a couple fights but never been punched. both of them i knocked out in one hit
>>34370092
It looks to me like he got his fighting skills from a cardio kickboxing class.
>>34370092
It's not quantity, it's quality.
>>34370092
Other dude was clearly using Ali's dope on the rope technique.

>>34370005
There's only two kicks you could throw with any expectation of not getting your shit pushed in and they both target the knees. Any higher and anyone who knows anything will have a good chance of grounding you
Depends heavily on the guy throwing it. Would rather just not be there, personally.

I've noticed this too. The only fight I've been in was in the fifth grade, when a guy that had been bullying me finally decided to try and fight. He squared off and put his fists up, then a swift kick to the stomach put him on the ground. Based on the events that followed, I think alot of people don't use kicks for a variety of reasons to include the perception that kicks are a "bitch move" and that (at least until recently with UFC) professional fighters (boxers) didn't kick at all, which subconsciously influences an otherwise untrained fighter attempting to mimic success.
Ultimately, regardless of the perception, kicking is the most effective method of brutalizing your opponent if your smaller built or untrained with punch. As you can see with the video, the guy in grey did nothing with his flailed punching but tired himself out and was left vulnerable

They've obviously not watched the opening scene from Casino Royale.
>>34370131
I disagree. A front kick to the stomach will invariably fuck anyone's day up, and if you have any leg strength will be too quick to get countered, especially by someone not expecting it. Have you ever tried countering one? A determined kick is hard enough to deflect, but countering one is difficult even if you know it's coming.
And I think the whole point of this is that quite obviously, few people "know what they're doing". The same could be said for punching, anyway.

You never see people throw any decent elbows in these fight videos
Key to taking any punch is DONT LET IT TOUCH YOUR FACE
>>34367472
That's pretty satisfying. I hope the guy in the black shirt wasn't the one who provoked that.
>>34370243
Muay thai fag here
I second this

Elbows are brutal, but looking at these videos leads me to believe it isn't something you would want to lead with. Once your opponent is tired for sure. But throwing a good elbow requires you to drop your guard on the side (if only for a second) and the flailed punching would get you tagged in the face or jaw.
But I never did muy thai, so the elbows I'm familiar with may not be what you're talking about

It's actually really easy to punch someone. I am 6'3 and a 6'4 well built fitness going guy tried to kick me.
It took so little force to catch his kick and throw him on the ground. I could have pummeled him but he just looked confused on his ass and never attacked me again.
>>34370354
You are just impressed by flashy moves. The most important thing is to get someone on the ground.
From there he is easy to stomp on and beat. If you can't do that stick to punches. Elbows are such a short range thing that screw you up if you miss.
>>34370354
Think like a vicious man. If you are up close and wrestling shove your fingers in his eyes.
When he lets go of you to defend his eyes beat him to the ground.
>>34367472
ewwwwww he leaned into the urinal
>>34370363
I'm honestly pretty surprised. Id hazard a guess and say he wasn't quite sure what he was doing, or perhaps you're alot quicker than most. I competed and sparred for years and very rarely was I truly countered with a kick, and that's when they're expecting them. I've certainly had kicks that were rendered ineffective by the attempt, though.
Like with any form of fighting, there's no on solution to every problem, and often your strategy will depend entirely on your opponent. But in my experience, most opponents were at most unprepared to deal with effective kicks.
>>34367472
chubby did all right
11/10
hope he took a piss on the faggot afterwards
>>34370268
Looks like a classic case of grey shirt thought he could pick on the fat kid, but fatty was not going to play ball so grey shirt had to wave his dick around for the crowd. However, his skill are dog shit and fatty only needed the one solid punch.

I used my elbows in a fight one time, was getting attacked by a bunch of guys, was completely pinned into a bush while getting whaled on so I windmilled my elbows and got them all off me which allowed me to (temporarily) escape
>>34367472
I'd like to think so. Boxed and did MMA for a fair few years, took my fair share of punches, never actually got KO'd. Been rocked a few times though.
>>34370005
Because kicks are risky. Think about it, if your opponent knows what they're doing, they're either gonna get out the way and hit you, catch your leg and fuck you up, or take you to the ground whilst you're off balance.
Like, the only kicks I'd throw in a street fight would be leg or teep kicks. And even then, it'd only be if it became evident they had no idea what they were doing.
>>34370243
I suppose it's a risk/reward thing. You've got to get close for an elbow to be effective, but if you did land it, you're gonna fuck them up.
If I ended up in a fight nowadays, now that I actually know how to fight, I'd probably try for one. You'd have to set it up well though, bait them into something so you can counter or lead with a jab and step in.
Elbows? Kicks? Nah.
