Lately I've been in the mood to buy some kind of fun .22, a big box of cheap ammo, and go plinkin'
What are your most fun and favorite guns that use .22lr?
CZ 455, ruger gp100, mk3/4
>>34367082
I only have two guns in .22 (SR22 and a 10/22) and I love shooting them
>>34367082
MKIII 22/45
>>34367086
>>34367169
I have both an SR22 and a MKII
they are fun guns, but I'm looking into a new red dot for my MKII
Henry's Golden Boy is a ton of fun to shoot and you don't have to worry about cycling problems. Some guy at my range actually gave me two minimags of CCI quiets because he couldn't get them to cycle out of his semi. After trying it in both of mine I couldn't get it to cycle either, but it feeds perfectly in the Henry.

HP22A
>>34367082
Walther uzi.
My Ruger 10/22 in an Aklys Bullpup Stock hands down. Everyone at the range always comes to see it.
M&P 15/22
>>34368261
Such a fun well made gun. The factory mags are unbelievably reliable.
>>34367082
My favorite is my lever action Henry but if I could get anything I'd get a .22lr ar15 with an echo trigger and just mag dump to my hearts content.
quiet and cheap
>>34368325
I have 3
Manual action .22s are some of the absolute best times you could ask for.
My favorite is the Remington 121 fieldmaster.

Has anyone got an opinion on the Schmeisser .22lr MP40 clone?
I'm a Brit and an online gun shop has one for around £350 and my LGS has one for £450. My Nan has a farm that we used to shoot on as kids so I'm considering asking her to let me shoot there and use that for my FAC.
Is it a decent .22? I shoot air rifles at the moment and want something semi and requiring an FAC. It looks like a fun little gun and the reviews seem positive. Also comes in an awesome crate.

Sorry, pic related
Beretta's 92-series rimfire conversion kit is super fun. Swap uppers and go to town. Mine is crazy accurate, too.
The complete rimfire 92 clones they source from Umarex are dumb.
>>34368639
Im assuming you just swap the barrel and mag and you all of the sudden have a m92 that shoots 22?
t. someone with a m92fs that is considering the idea
>>34368698
That's exactly how it works, yes.
Lighter-than-stock mainsprings do compromise reliability a bit in mine, especially for DA. I moved back up in weight to a D-spring and it cleared up. I still get the occassional light strike but it's acceptably infrequent IMO.
I like it a lot.
>>34368698
Whoops - sorry, misread. You swap the entire top end. Barrel AND slide.
Mossberg blaze is a fun and cheap gun. it will shoot anything you put in it
I love mine.
>>34367169
lol dont get the mark3 legit terrible to take apart and put together get the mark4
Stuff like the Ruger mark 4 and buckmark or sr22 are fun, but the unorthodox and vintage actions are what is best. I have a 22 single shot rifle from the 20s and a winchester 69 bolt action. They are still pretty cheap to find but the old winchesters were quality firearms. A Ruger charger or a good high capacity revolver are good choices.

Same here. The little badger about as barebones as a rifle can get, but there is an odd charm to it
>>34368137
hows the trigger on that thing?
>>34369135
I have a MKIII. Disassembly is not as terrible as people say. It's tight at first, but okay once you lube it and take it down a few times. Use a soft mallet.
I used to have an H&R 929 snub, and while it wasn't very easy to get on target with, it was really fun to shoot
>>34369106
How does it feel? This thing looks oddly practical.
>>34368562
It's not the GSG MP40, but I do have the woooden-crated GSG STG-44. Absolutely awesome, and great value for money. Seems very well made.
>>34371311
Okay thanks for the response. It seems reasonably priced, in fact it seems pretty cheap. Especially the online one. Good for a first gun? .22lr makes sense for a first proper firearm
I love my Savage MK II. If you just want something to plink away with, bolt guns are where it's at. They are more reliable and just more fun if you ask me.
>>34371599
I love my savage mkii, super reliable, super accurate, and just a real nice gun to look at and shoot. I take it to benchrest rimfire matches and compete angst old guys with very expensive setups. I do alright for myself
>>34367169
Funnest 22 I own is a Ruger MKIII, but I'd check out the MK4. They are easier, much easier, to break down for cleaning
>>34368342
Those lever action Henrys are a total riot
>>34367082
I only have the one.
Extractor and ejector need work, but she's a naildriver. Also no magazine so single shot bolt action from the 1930's.
Remington speedmaster is a lot of fun
>>34367082
GP100 .22lr
Big revolver with ten shots...endlessly fun but also practical as a hunting survival weapon for small game and warding off people who don't initially realize it's a .22lr
Get a speed beez speed loader to have loads of fun.
>>34372239
why are those bunnies sleeping like that
>>34369106
>single shot
>fun
seriously?
>>34367082
The Walther made mini Uzi pistol replica with a TLR-4 light/laser on the rail. Super well made and German overbuilt, weighs 4lbs with a 20 round mag.
It is the most fun gun I have of any caliber, even though it seems like it would be retarded.
CDNN has had them for $250, They're up to $280 now. I'm thinking about a second one so don't buy them all.
>>34369106
This thing is about as fun to shoot as it is to pop pimples. It has a certain charm to it, but it'll stop being fun really quickly.
>>34374659
speaking of German replicas, I have the issc mk22 scar and it is awesome. it gets shit on because the first generation flopped but they fixed all the issues and it kicks ass for $280.
nugget
>>34367082
I have this. It's fun and 100% reliable.
>>34367082
Wait...
You actually shoot your .22?
You are supposed to hoard every box the store has on the shelf you idiot
>>34375303
This is my wife's.
>>34371480
Good for a first gun? Depends. You're getting an approximation of a WW2 rifle, so for better or for worse it's:
1) a lot heavier than other .22's (about 9 lbs)
2) not the greatest for mounting a scope (there is an option for a mount, but I never had much luck with it)
3) a loooong magazine that can make it awkward to shoot rested on a bench.
If you don't mind those points, it's definitely worth it. It's got a nice ajustable trigger, gets a lot of interest at the range, is semi-historic, and awesome to shoot .
