AML 90 A CUTE! I want a modern version fitted with a 105mm capable of launching ATGMs, a RWS on top of the turret, a high horsepower engine for maximum shoot and scoot, a nice modern optics/sensor/counter-measures/fire-control package, and enough armour to stand up to 12.7mm on all sides, and at least a chance of deflection from 30mm on the front.

It was a scout car. The largest thing it was expected to fight would be a M5 Stuart, or MAYBE a Chaffee M24. In both cases, the side which shot first would win. The idea of arming scouts like that is to allow them to push a probe past screening forces, at which the Puma was acceptable; it was pretty large for the role of scout car otherwise- see the M8 greyhound to compare.
