Enlisted POG scum are necessary, but the services can't be too picky if they want to fill manning slots. The class division between officers and peons originated when peasant scum really WERE scum. Now you see why it's worth preserving because quite a few still are.

Services relying on lower class, inferior people (let's not sugar coat it) must adjust standards accordingly. All services do it, but as they say "there are many ways to serve". When I mentioned enlisting many years ago my Nam vet buddies told me to avoid the green machine and the Corps. Not a problem! Went career USAF and enjoyed fixing fighters for techy pleasure and distance from nonners/sortie watchers. Would cheerfully do again.
