I'm looking at the reccomended .22lr rifles pic in the sticky I'm runnning into some trouble:
The rifles I crossed out, they are not available in my country.
The ruger 10/22 is far, far more expensive than others. The Marlin 60 is really fine from what I read but I really dislike the tubular system.
And the Norinco has some bad reviews, and apparently has plastic parts that break easily.
Is the marlin 795 that much worse than the model 60? do they jam a lot? assuming proper care and manteinance, are they really the jam machines some people say?
Am I overlooking any other good .22lr rifle or will I have to cough up almost twice the price of a model 60 for a 10/22?

CZ 452/Savage/Anschultz
just shut the fuck up and get a Marlin 60

Junk. NO
>>34357385
the marlin 60 tube is pretty sweet. Look up the speed-d loader and you can have a sweet quick reloading setup without the hassle of reloading magazines.

Are Savages any good? they come around quite easily here. Also would prefeer it to be semi auto but willing to look into bolt action as well.
>>34357399
I'm not spending money on a gun I don't like, sorry mang.
>>34357385
the 10/22 is more expensive, however it is the best firearm of the ones you are looking at. It is without a doubt the greatest .22 lr firearm ever.
Here
64 FXP

>Are Savages any good?
Yes. Not CZ or Anschutz tier but definitely decent guns and better than most in that pic..

If you have money get the accu trigger

>Is the marlin 795 that much worse than the model 60?
its the same thing except it takes mags
well the plastic stock is mediocre compared to the wood on the 60 but i think they make 60s with the plastic stock too. the stocks not a huge negative.
if your in a country where guns are expensive mags might be too. might be worth getting the 60 and not spending 100s on mags.
>>34357450
Its not that guns are expensive, but 10 22s are just ridiculously expensive
>>34357385
>excluding the 512
kys retard
>>34357489
What part of "isnt sold in my country" do you not understand? You must really be stupid.
>>34357471
where do you live? how expensive?

AR-15 with 22lr bolt conversion. /thread
>hurr 10/22s are ridiculously expensive
holy fucking shit how poor are you? you can buy a 10/22 for like 160 bucks if you shop around
>>34358369
Are you retarded?
He doesn't live in the states.
>>34357385
My 10-22 is fun! It does have some malfunctions here and there but I trust it as a hiking companion.
>>34357385
Marlin 70 is a mag fed version of the 60.
There is also the Mossberg 702 which is basically the same as the Marlin 795 but cheaper (Might also be called 702 international or plinkster)
>>34357385
You realize that what you list as awesome tier is pleb tier, right?
Awesome semi .22LR would be something like a tweaked JP-22 going for maybe $2000.
Marlin 60 my man, you won't regret it. Probably the smoothest and most fun .22 on the market. I enjoy shooting it far more that a 10/22.
>>34357409
>it is without a doubt the greatest .22 lr firearm ever
Thanks for falling for the meme.
The best thing about the 10/22 is the aftermarket support to replace all the cheap and shitty factory parts.
>>34359770
How is he wrong ? Great aftermarket support for a great little gun
>>34357385
Personally, I would spring for a a CZ 455 if I was just looking for a plinker. Those guns are just so satisfying to use.
nothing wrong with the marlin 70 if youre looking for a mag fed semi though.
Marlin if you like 22s
10/22 if you want to accessorize like a mad man.
>>34357425
you mean the most aweful 22 there is?
>shitty pot metal magazines that break after 300 rounds and costs 23 dollars to replace
>shitty stock poly
>bb gun sights
>stupid take down
That rifle is awful. Canadians guns are horrible.
>>34357471
Seriously? i can get them for less than 200 dollars online and get a new one for 240 at my local gun shop.
Get out of here you poorfag
Get the Marlin 795 my dude. I bought mine in February and although I've only put roughly 500 rounds through it I havent had a single jam. Thing shoots like a laser and is also my first .22
Marlin 60 is about the finest 22 rifle on the market.
There are other decent 22 rifles on the market, but I can't see how any reasonable person would regret the purchase of a Marlin 60. Very reliable and less ammo sensitive than many other models, extremely accurate and last practically forever if you take care of them.
10-22 is decent. Mostly popular due to popularity of large amount of aftermarket shit for them. The marlin doesn't NEED the aftermarket stuff to shoot well though.
>>34357385
I have a 795 and I really like it. Pro-Mag sells 25 round magazines, but from what it sounds, that might be taboo in your country.
>>34361361
The Marlin 60, at least to me, feels/handles like a full-size rifle. A stock 10-22 feels more like a kid's toy in my hands (unless it's been heavily modified to NOT feel that way)
>>34357471
I got my 10/22 takedown from Wallyworld for $199. I don't criticise people for being poorfags, as I was a poorfag funowner for many years, but lay off the weed or beer for a few months and save for quality.
>>34357385
Marlin 795 is fun as fuck. I've had pretty much no issues with mine since I've owned it, and the magazines make plinking more fun. My cousin gave me a cheap little scope to put on it, and now it's a total joy to pull out on range trips.
Are the new Marlin 60s as crappy as the other new Marlins these days?
M&p 15 22 only gud 22
Ar7
>>34357385
>>34357399
I second what he said. I like them better than the Rugers. They are damn accurate too. And who cares if a 22 doesn't use detachable mags??
