I'm pretty picky about running shit steel cased ammo in my guns, and I refuse to run it in any of my guns.
But there's not any cheap 7.62 real fuckin' NATO anywhere near me, and I don't want to spend $16 in shipping to buy it online. People always say "RUN STEEL CASED IN G3 PATTERN RIFLES, THEY EAT THAT SHIT UP". Any truth to that? Should I just cave and buy $9 Tula?
The ONLY thing it will hurt is the extractor.
>>34357312
I Shoot steel case in my ptr32 works great.
Delayed blowback relies on retard strength to function, so it should be fine.
>>34357327
Stupid question, but are they easy to replace? You can buy spare extractors for like $30 and shit, if I save $8 a box of ammo by buying steel cased garbage, it'd be worth it
>>34357330
Gorgeous gun, man
>>34357330
I want one of these so bad are they worth it?
I already have an AK.
>>34357474
Thanks.
>>34357622
Yea i have many aks, its fun to use the same mags, but with a different rifle all together.
>25 yard group second time shooting.
>>34357327
Even then that is a really slow process.
>>34357312
I run a bunch of Tula in my PTR. It runs great.
>>34357312
I've run thousands of rounds of steel through my ptrs, I only had two FTF issues. But it was from a bent feed lip on a surplus mag. I bet it back out and had zero issues from there on out. Just clean your guns after every trip.
>>34358713
Is RTG still selling the clipped and pinned metal lowers?
>>34357330
Tell me more about this gun. I want something that shoots the ak round but cant into aks or sks. (I think theyre fuck ugly) ive been so close to ordering a ptr but i am a cheapshit and dont want to pay realfukkinnato wallet rape.
>>34358734
Its a sweet shooter. Unique recoil, very accuate, but its heavy. It prefers bakelite, pmags, and ak103 mags. Steels will work, but in 500rnds 2/3 malfuntions (ftf) were with steel mags. Its very enjoyable to shoot imo.
>dums do not fit.
I use Tul/Wolf steel cased. It's not a accurate as the better brass cased stuff.
Real question: Why does ptr still produce 10-12 lbs triggers??
I would buy their my ak 7.62 if they would fix the gd trigger.
>>34357312
Steel case is fine for pretty much any rifle. Quit being a whiny bitch and lurk moar. We have this thread weekly.
>>34358769
Mine is like 4lbs....
>>34357327
>Hurting the extractor on a gun that doesn't even really need one because of the stupid high extraction pressures.
>>34358793
Lemme show you extraction pressures
*unzips dick*
>>34357327
>mild steel vs hardened steel
>>34358780
Hmmm. And this is chambered 7.62? Do you like it? pros vs. cons? Is the trigger comparable to the tapco ak triggers?
>enlighten me please
>>34358931
>7.62x39
The cons are heavy and mag compatibility. The trigger is leagues ahead of tapco abd better than alg akt trigger imo. Its very consistent pull. I have not got to shoot the rifle past 200yds but it seems quit accurate.
>>34357330
I had a sudden vision of bakelite furniture on that. Have an artsy friend that could probably simulate the look, does it take normal ptr furniture?
>>34359028
Yeah it takes regular g3 furniture, which is a plus imo.
>>34357312
>I refuse to run it in any of my guns
why? it doesnt hurt the gun and even if it did by the time it wore the gun more than brass enough to matter you'd have saved more than enough to buy a new gun
>>34357312
Don't worry about paying $16 in shipping when you're buying $200 worth of ammo online. Even with the shipping added in, you can get Russian steel-cased 308 for less than $0.36/round if you buy online.
>>34359195
tb.h if u buy on sportsmans guide with the buyers club thing u get free shipping on orders over $75 and it's the cheapest i've found on just about everything
>>34358713
STILL FUCKING JEALOUS
>>34358713
that g3 handguard HNNNNNNNNNGGGGGG
>>34358730
New PTRs come with them
>AND A FUCKING CETME COCKING TUBE INSTEAD OF THE ORIGINAL DESIGN REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>34358713
Why are fal owners such weaboo degenerates?
>>34359229
>>34359231
You too can get them if you search long enough.
>>34359254
Only the GI models. I'm pretty sure just about everything else comes with the polymer.
>>34359305
You'd have to ask Mugi, he'd know better than I would.
>>34359254
What's the difference between the CETME and G3 cocking tubes?
>>34359305
>not being a weeaboo
>not being a degenerate
Get with the times fäm.
>>34359810
CETME cocking tubes have ridges all the way down while on G3 tubes, the ridges stop about halfway.
>>34359869
Maybe I'm blind, but I fail to see the difference.

I was scrolling by and I thought the thumbnail was a sword.

I can't see shit in that top one, cap'n.
>>34359941
Kek, never noticed that but I see what you mean.
>>34359955
Nigga, you really don't have to look that hard.
if your gun can't handle steel cases you've got a shitty gun
most guns can handle it apart from 100 year old antiques
>>34359982
he prob saved enough from those 2 rounds to buy a whole new gun
>>34359982
>posts shitty FAL
exactly
same exact shit happened to a friend's century L1A1 shooting steel case
>>34359041
Ben avery? I was just there this weekend.

>sakuya without his dress and girdle
>>34360658
Yesir i was there on friday.
Small world
Buying online in bulk is definitely the way to go. Barring that, try walmart OP. Brass cased zqi for 9.99
>>34358730
Yeah, I just bought one the other day.
Everything roller delayed blowback just looks so fun. It's so tactile and rough and I love it.
>>34359968
>>34359933
>>34359869
Not that guy, but damn I can never unsee this. I need to replace mine ASAP. I wonder how difficult it is to replace?
>>34359305
>tfw want a L1A1 but dsa one i want cost 1700 dollars.
>>34357312
>I'm pretty picky about steel case
>and I refuse to use steel case
This is the exact kind of redundant sentence structure I'd expect from a retard that bought a CETME but thinks he's above steel case.
>>34361820
>tfw dsa doesn't make new L1A1's
Steel case ammo fouls your barrel more because the neck doesn't expand like brass, but I assume that isn't an issue on non-bottlenecked cartridges??
>>34358769
>12lb trigger
What!?!?! Mine is certainly not that. 12lbs is like a double action revolver.
>>34361873
It's just carbon. It won't hurt the gun. And the slight extra amount will not affect function.
>>34357312
I shoot almost exclusively steel case in almost every one of my guns. Guns are built tough enough to withstand them.
steel is fine in fals

You're a fucking idiot.
G3 rifles dont use any sort of gas system so if you have any ammo in 308. that has a higher gr to create more chamber pressure it will probably cicle better since the rifle relies mostly on chamber pressure to chamber and eject a new round. (delayed blowback) hope it helps bro.
Roller Delayed mustardrrace desu.
>>34360658
That fucking tattoo on your hand. Bro... you have a "job" job right?
>>34364719
Yesir
>PTR cranks out G3 pattern rifles
>PTR cranks G3 pattern rifles that accept AKM mags and shoot x39
>PTR doesn't make a single option in 5.56
The suffering is real. I just want an HK93 without paying 2.3k or taking a chance with Century garbage
>>34365054
7.62x39 is the perfect compliment to .308.
>>34365077
>not x54R
>>34365054
Talking like that you couldn't afford hk93 magazines anyways. The hk rifles that takes ar mags are even more complicated, get real fuckboy. You will never have this. It exists right now but you cannot and will never afford this.
>>34365584
Actually Turkish mags come in here and there, they go for like 30 bucks iirc. You can also dremel the promags and they'll work fine, it's obviously kind of a pain though.
And fuck you, I'm used to expensive mags. I have USPs
>>34365077
Yeah, but I want something to compliment my AR.
>>34365645
Then get a ar10. Ar's are for fags.

Yes mom, I have a fantastic job with amazing benefits, and have options to move all over the country and make great money due to how specialized it is.

Something that share ammo with my AR you mong. Also, dat HK slap is delicious, need some in my life.

>>34367401
How many FALs have you seen in 7.62x39?
>>34367527
Ptr industries makes ptrs in x39 hence my question.
>>34368095
M8, none of those sources that he listed had anything to do with PTRs. PTRs work great with steel case, FALs do not. Read the posts.
PTR91 is the new SKS.
Think about it. You know it is true.
are there any mods i can do to my stock ptr buffer since the heavy is out of stock everywhere?
>>34364547
>FAL action is so strong it's ripping steel cases open and blowing their mags out
pretty metal
>>34368133
Im trying to learn, im a revolverfag trying to learn semis.
>>34365054
A route for a PTR in 5.56 is rebarreling a PTR 32 to 5.56, fuck around with bolt heads and either mod the existing bolt face to accept 5.56 or fuck with HK33 bolt heads, and use Galil mags.
