Bought a k31, cleaned it with water, next day rust inside barrel all over.
Packed and put the gun into a water vinegar solution to stop the rust and get it off, then it started to rust even more except it was black rust.
Pitted gun now.
Also did a bad finish on the wood since the old also wasn't very good but this turned out a lot worse.
Sold it on armliat for 120 more than I bought it for to some sucker and got a new k31 in much better condition for the same price as the old one and now I always keep her greased and oiled up everywhere there is metal.
The old one had an audible grit sound to the bolt being worked, just to tell you how bad it was.

I was twelve when I won a remington 700 (I believe to be pre buyout) in 2008, over the years I shot the rifle, hunted with it, payed exorbitant prices of $2 a bullet for that nice ballistic silvertip to shoot the deer with, made amazing exit wounds, by the way, shot one in the neck and the hole was big enough to fist without any resistance, then one day in 2012 when I was 15-16, my uncle apparently still had it from when he took me pig hunting when he got mad at grandpa for some reason or other involving my cousin's playing baseball not too well. He tells me that he doesn't have it and says either my other uncle or grandpa have it. Can't prove he has it, and I've SEEN both their safes and know that my rifle is in neither. And for four or five years since, I don't have my fucking rifle, he does. So I suppose I'm going to get it back when he dies or something, and hopefully his death is both painful and shameful. So now, since he won't give me my rifle back, which is not in his name, mind you, The rest of my family went from "My brother is a fuckass." to "I have no brother."
