I have the opportunity to get a brand new KAC SR-16 CQB E3 Mod 1 upper with URX 3.1. Should I buy that or a regular SR-15 Mod 2 upper with mlok URX 4 instead?

I know it's an older version but I personally like the look of URX 3.1 and having "SR-16" on the side would be pretty cool.

They're too expensive now imo but still go on sale for $70 from time to time. Mine is 50" and fits everything up to a nugget. I everything about them except 2 things. The backpack straps seem flimsy so I took them off, and the carry handle is too far rearward so the bag wants to tilt forward when carried. The newer version(s) may have fixed that.

Great pockets, padding, layout and stitching tho. Every pocket has snap straps for tie down. Tons of room for all the accessories to accompany a rifle or two. I think they're made by Voodoo, so look for the same thing with that brand if it's cheaper.

Okay dude so 10k mods is way too much. You're much better off getting a 20k SUV then putting 5k mods into it. Seriously check out the newer 4Runners. You might need to stretch your dollar a bit but they are simply better cars than the Xterra. A big draw for the Xterra for me was the 6 speed manual trans. Don't get me wrong, the Xterras are probably alright, but I sure as hell got a shit one. Anything IFS is going to be a bitch to lift above ~3-4" so keep that in mind. If big off road capability is what you want, you're basically going to have to go Wrangler, which isn't a bad call but the 4 door ones are expensive (the cheap ones from the mid 2000's are crap), and they don't have as much room as an Xterra or a 4Runner.

Good ~4-5" Xterra lift is going to cost you about 5 grand. That is for swapping a titan IFS into the Xterra. You can do a solid ~3-4" Xterra lift without the Titan swap for maybe 3k, but the Titan Swap is nice because you get to regear, something that piece of shit 4.0 car V6 needs badly. 20k will get you a nice low mileage 2009-2014 Xterra. Definitely something to consider.

The most financially savvy thing to do is just to put all of it into the newest 4Runner you can afford, and don't mod it.

Off Road/Pro4X comes with decent Rockford Fosgate sound and an electronic locker in the rear. Get an auto if you're serious about 4wheeling, and remember an Xterra won't be a serious 4wheeler without several thousands of dollars in mods. Most important mods are tires, recovery gear, lift, sliders, then bumpers. Like I said 2009 up and you'll be happier than I was/am.

Their quality hasn't slipped, but you sure as hell can get something of similar/same quality while paying less. The PSA I linked you originally has an FN made barrel, and remember that what stock, grip, and even rails to an extent don't really determine the accuracy of an AR. It really comes down to the barrel and of course the ammo.
