I can find plenty of high quality officer caps but finding SS/Eagle pins that aren't plastic or shitty is the hard part. Anyone got ideas?

Is there any way to get good Kirza Sapogi / Soviet Jackboots without getting rused?
eBay has a lot of boots on sale, but they are mostly from Ukraine. They are mainly a mix of Soviet or Russian or perhaps even Ukranian made boots that range from riding boots, officer, parade, enlisted, and even disgusting current production M-94s with a buckle or zipper. They all come in different heights as well.
I just want good field worthy sapogi that will fit me and goes perfect with the Gimnasterka or M69 regulations.
How about sizing? I wear US 11 / UK 10 / EU 43-44 5.11 boots with socks. Should jackboots be roomy?
>>34353441
If I weren't damned broke I'd take that winter hat
>>34353989
What's the difference? Ripstop, velcro?
>>34354347
Yeah ripstop with Velcro pocket closures, OPFOR badging too
>>34354529
Holy crap are you selling? De La is RIP, he got kidnapped by norks. I'll take it. I love opfor stuff.
Oh good, one of these is up
someone give me the quick rundown on Belgian Jigsaw? What's the good shit to get and where do I get it?
>>34354745
Effective in the same way alpenflage is. The reds work even though they seem like they wouldn't. Use in a wooded environment, preferably in the fall with lots of leaves and other brown things on the ground.
Build quality is top notch. You won't be disappointed. Look up a sizing chart somewhere, I'm not sure how large or small they run. Get one from here or ebay.

The M90 stuff you can find on ebay and occasionally Sportsmans Guide.
It's great shit, fits great and is tough and the material is quite comfy.

And what other gear do the Belgians use as far as chest rigs, maybe even belts/belt rigs. Thinking of setting up a Belgiboo set to go with my Russiboo set
>>34355281
Jackets and trousers probably around $20 +shipping.
No idea what gear they use, there's some random pouches, rucks, and bags floating around and Varus used to have some of the old flak vests filled with mattress foam but they sold out.
I think a lot of them nowadays private purchase Artkis chest rigs and LBVs.
>>34355320
Nice, and sucks on the gear, guess I'll have to dig deeper
Any place where I can find out what sizings they used? A couple places are just showing me L/M/S. Really hoping I can have a set of pants at minimum for next week but it's nbd if it doesn't get here before then
>>34355343
No clue on specific sizing, sorry. The uniforms themselves are just marked s,m,l, and short/regular/long, although they seem pretty on par with US BDU sizing.

uhhhh
is that blood
>>34359118
It's much more likely to be rust.
>>34359148
I was thinking it might be rust, but I wasn't sure why the canvas would have rusted. the metal is almost entirely intact
>>34359118
Definitely rust, blood dries black or very dark brown.
>>34359177
Military kit is often stored in crappy conditions (i.e. in a gigantic pile in the corner of some godforsaken warehouse) so it probably just sat on top of or underneath some rusty hardware.
>>34359255
>>34359184
Cheers! That makes sense to me, for sanitary reasons that is good to know

As far as i know the finns use "roomy" jackboots, meaning that they use a close fitting sock, and a loose woolsock over that to avoid blisters. But a big problem with jackboots is that you cant adjust them, so if you have wierd feet it can be though to find a proper one

Those are some oddities.
The "Salik" K-Way uniforms were made in France and Belgium, and were used by the French in one airborne unit in a semi-regulated manner, and also by the Moroccans.
There was also a slightly different style/brand used by the Argie's in the Falklands and Irish UN Peacekeepers in Lebanon in the 80's, also in a "semi-allowed commercial private purchase".
Notice the horizontal/smaller pattern on the ones the Irish/Argies used.
>>34381894

NEW STUFF
>>34387718
What the flip is up with that pocket flap?
Is it a replacement for a torn-off one, or simply a case of the factory not caring?
>>34387718
Man you got the real trousers too, I got the weird parade camo jodhpurs.
>>34388699
Just them not caring. The top pockets aren't even real, at least on mine. They're sewn shut.
>>34388771
What the actual heck? The pockets are clearly there, so the non-functional flaps must be some sort of "muh aesthetics/discipline" thing.
The EDF had a similar practice in the TTsKO era - draftees undergoing basic training had to stitch their pocket flaps shut to keep 'em nice and tidy.

>>34390490
Mid length, (No longer than crotch length, so no trench coats), either camo or solid works but camo preferred, and the other concerns can go either way.
>>34390511
British smocks are good. Windproof ones seem to be the most popular, they have hoods that roll up into a nice padded circle around your neck, have a wire around them to hold shape, are good construction and have a plethora of pockets and come in woodland and desert.
They can be found in many places, particularly online like ebay. >>34366307
>>34366307
>>34390562
Looks like a nicer version of Woodland, thanks for the recommendation.
I'd have to get one without the Union Jack though, because fuck the British.
>>34390619
Not all of them have a patch, but if yours does, just take it off.
>>34390455
Standard stuff you've all seen before, MK.IV helmet, 37 pattern webbing, fal mags, leather magazine pouch for the Carl Gustav. All that sort of stuff. I was actually surprised when I seen that particular pattern brought up because for years I thought it was some generic Camo that he picked up over there I had bo idea it was an actual thing.
>>34390778

Are those East German plastic canteens safe to drink from? What about Soviet metal (aluminum?) canteens/flasks, are they safe to drink from?
>>34395363
That really depends on what you want it for.
For affordable ballistic protection, you can't really go wrong with a basic bitch USGI PASGT (just make sure to replace the shitty two-point chinstrap with one of the many aftermarket three or four-point versions).
>>34396372
Good to go, just give the fucker a good thorough wash before using it.
We had beat-to-shit 1960s canteens when I served. They stank like complete motherfuckers and made the water taste strange, but nobody actually got sick.
Opinion time:
I have 50 bucks, I want a medium sized bag for my next few trips innawoods. I've brought an assault pack before, it barely holds everything I need for the 3 days I'm out, even after revising my gear (I bring some camera shit and food).
The assault pack was free and just barely got the job done, so I'm looking back into militaria, and I've got my sights on a German rucksack for 40 dollars, flecktarn, or an American medium rucksack for 50 dollars.
I'm torn because the American one is in ACU which I never liked, but it's the big brother of the assault pack I already like. German one has no frame and is untested by me, so I'm wary. If I can find the medium ruck in a box labeled "free" in some supply cage then I'll take that, but I doubt it.
I know this is more for /out/, and I asked there, but it's slow.
BLEASE HALP

Help me /k/, I want to buy Soviet jackboots, but I can't understand the sizing.
My feet are 27 cm (10.62 in) long. There is size US 10 and US 11, insole length of 27.7cm (10.90 in) and 28.5 cm (11.22 in) respectively.
Which size should I get? I haven't worn jackboots before, and I am sure I read somewhere that the boots should be a little loose, though I am retarded to figure that out. I also intend to wear them with portyanki foot wraps if that would make a difference.
>>34412490
It's the first version east germany came out with.
Now I can finally operate like my old man
Are there any sellers on eBay that sell Ukrainian TTsKO for reasonable prices?

soviet jackboot arent made to fit well, they will probably be ill fitting wich ever size you choose, so pick the closest possible.
you can buy mine if you want, size 42
