Do you really not know that different powders burn at different rates and some powders do not completely consume their reactants due to loose tolerances on stochiometry? Pro tip: cheapshit ammo leaves more powder fouling because not all of it burns.

It is called stopping power because the bullet literally pushes the human target back a little bit.

I know some powders are dirtier than others, but I don't think it's because they burn incompletely. Conservation of mass says that whatever isn't converted into gas is going to remain solid.

The amount of difference in soot on your gun, between shooting Federal or Speer ammo and something like Remington green box or Winchester white box, which I've had many a fudd swear up and down was too dirty to shoot, is so minor, if there even is a difference, that you'd never notice it if you shoot more than a single magazine through your gun.

The first M16A1's were issued without cleaning kits and the troops using them believed the rifles were some space age self cleaning technological marvel. Also they might have been issued with crappy ammo too but both those problems were corrected a couple years later.

I guess that's how the AR platforms bad reputation got started even if it's all bullshit now.

>>
>>34349135
From Wikipedia:
>"In March 1965, the Army began to issue the XM16E1 to infantry units. However, the rifle was initially delivered without adequate cleaning kits or instructions because Colt had claimed the M16 was self-cleaning. As a result, reports of stoppages in combat began to surface. The most severe problem, was known as "failure to extract"—the spent cartridge case remained lodged in the chamber after the rifle was fired. Documented accounts of dead U.S. troops found next to disassembled rifles eventually led to a Congressional investigation"

yeah, some fudd at the range was telling me how the KGB used .22's for assassinations because they bounced around inside skulls like a beach ball.
>>
Can any oldfags confirm the ".22 bounces in the skull" is in fact an old fudd meme? I first heard that line in "the zombie survival guide", and that came out in mid 2000s.
>>
>>34349509
It's meant for target aquasition. Shine for a split second to see what you'll be shooting at. 80% of the time none of you will need to use it seriously, but when you need a light and you don't have one, you're fucked.

The alternative is shooting blindly into the dark. You literally cannot shoot a target without acquiring its shape and position
>>

I don't give a fuck what Glock says, the G29 isn't a sub-compact even if they cut a little off the grip so that you HAVE to us a pinky extension
>>
>>34353341

I carry it with no issue and don't use the extension. I have pretty big hands but only use my middle and ring finger for grip on any of my guns. There is really no point in grabbing tight with your pinky.

If the rifling of your fixed barrel handgun is inferior to the rifling of a tilting barrel handgun with solid lockup, it would be entirely possible for the opposite to be true.

I'm not talking about surplus. I'm talking about two brands of ammo made in the First World that you can find in a store. Federal vs. Remington green box, for example.

You've never shot dirty 22lr, I'm guessing. Or you're the kind of guy that thinks 50 rounds is enough for a range trip.

It's really no fun when a gun has to be cleaned and disassembled mid range trip.

I also rock the G19 LCP combo, but I only carry the LCP if I absolutely have to. If I want to step into walgreens or dunkin donuts before I'm dressed and still have gym shorts on, if I'm at the gym, or I need to deep conceal (don't have a job like that) When I'm ready for the day, on my bike and especially if I'm going through the hood, I keep the Glock 19 on me.

.380 will kill for sure, but will it stop? I'm not so sure. The LCP and all .380 pocket pistols are "better than nothing" guns, and that's it. Not great for primary carry.

im pushing 500 rounds since i last cleaned mine. im seeing how long it takes. every couple hundred or so i put some red high temp bearing grease on the war parts of the BCG, and put 4 or 6 drops of oil on the gas rings [through the vent holes in bcg]. oh btw this rifle has gone 3k rounds without a SINGLE malfunction... and its a budget build.

1. It's no where near as loud as gun fire that would be accompanying it.

2. Just because one soldier is out of ammo, doesn't mean the other 11 guys he's with are. On the off chance you hear a ping and stick your head out with glee to shoot an American, you would find a new hole in your head because the guy carrying the BAR put one there. Talking your guns is key to maintaining a constant rate of fire.
