I'm assuming you mean as guns, because obviously sticking a bayonet on a rifle and using it as a pseudo-spear works.

Guns could be used in HtH, there are problems (like needing standoff) but its technically possible. There is no reason to ever force that situation though, its always better to stay/get clear and just shoot them.
